I don't know if this is even possible, but I wanted to lift the suggestion in case it is.
Currently, I feel that the Light theme is too bright, since it's almost just white, and not enough grays, but at the same time, I feel like the dark theme is almost too dark, as it's almost entirely black.
As someone with astigmatism and light sensitivity, none of the current themes feel completely optimal for me, as the dark themes make the white letters in posts "explode" and glow (look up astigmatism traffic to get an idea of how it looks for someone with eyes similar to mine), which strains the eye. And the light theme is so bright that it strains my eyes within minutes of using it.
My suggestion is to add some sort of middle-ground too. I did this incredibly hasty demo in paint just to illustrate what a slightly darker blue theme might look like (don't put too much stock into the quality of my paint fill skills, it's just a demonstration) because it blends lighter and darker colors better for someone like me who has sensitive eyes. There are other color combinations (and better blues) that work well too, but I opted to test with blue first since I feel it's a more appropriate "tech" color than earthier colors.
Again, not sure if this is even possible on this kind of forum, but it would be very nice to have :)
