I remember that there's a small or big difference between Fire Emblem games 3DS Eng/Jap but I just don't know what it is
all I remember is a friend meter or something and if there is a difference is there an English patch to play the Jap version

*I know its taged NDS but its the close itself thing to 3DS and I had a thread asking about adding newer consoles (or at least up to the Wii U)*

Aside from the usual localization changes here and there I believe Fates had a feature where you'd rub your party members all over for friendship points in the JP version. Or something along those lines at least.
In the western version they just say a quip and that's it.

I don't know that there are major differences. Obviously the localization made some changes (some for the better, some worse) and YMMV if that matters a lot to you. There's some typical Nintendo of America censorship and the face rubbing minigame got toned down significantly, but other than that it is the same game.

usually the difficulty is lowered or the hardest mode will be removed. ages are sometimes changed. a bizarre bit of censorship will happen from time to time. one scene in fire emblem awakening dlc comes off far more explicit because of the censoring.

I think from Awakening forward, they stopped removing difficulty levels.

that's good. it didn't make any sense to remove them in the first place.

one major thing in fates was that in japanese selecting the avatars voice is practically selecting their personality as it changes all of the text dialogue said by them. and its pretty vast like sounding hesitant and submissive to being proactive and aggressive

huh, i didn't know that. i play with the sound off usually, so the voices don't matter to me. i was wondering a bit why my character was beings shy and hesitant and not confident. fire emblem warriors gave me a different impression of the avatar character.
