I've seen some odd choices for the Sega Pico, but I would have never thought to see Cutie Honey on it.

Never change Japan.

The Pico is such a weird system, I know if it primarily through Tokusatsu- the B-Fighter Kabuto game exists for reasons that go beyond my comprehension.

It became a dumping ground console for a lot of mid 90's franchise tie-ins because the Pico sold (proportionally) well in Japan, it had good hardware but the interface being a Pen limits every game to a glorified point and click affair.
The Saturn was King in Japan, outselling even the N64 it was second only to the playstation.
Where in the west the Megadrive/Genesis remained relevant as a budget alternative up to 1998 thanks to its crazy large install base, the Pico took that spot in Japan.

It's where weird licensed games & low cost shovelware thrived.

Craziest part? The Pico had an international release. A 3.4 million user install base.
It outsold the 3DO, Atari Jaguar, Amiga CD32 & PC-FX COMBINED

You're not familiar with Go Nagai, by chance? He is the creator of Devilman, Mazinger Z, Ufo Robot Goldrake, Getter Rebot etc.
I take it you're French? Over here we know the anime as Grendizer, but yeah I'm familiar with those as I'm from Asia, we got mostly anime here in the 90s but not much western cartoons in my region.

well I do know about Devilman and Mazinger Z, Ufo Robot Goldrake, Getter Rebot rely good old classic I did know about cute honey for a long time but kind forgot about for a long time so even when I had internet so I could simpler watch it I never remeber it until recently ><

Releasing a "Cutie Honey" game on the Sega Pico of all things is certainly... a choice.😂

The Sega Pico was a touch screen console a decade before the Nintendo DS...

Ufo Robot Goldrake,
First time in my live I've seen someone mixing the original and French localised name for him.

Really? I heard the French name online multiple times.

I'm italian, guys lol. And yeah, there are so many anime titles that got changed here a lot. Most of them for worse, but Goldrake sounds really cool so it gets a pass.

(oh, and about the DS matter: very cool fact, didn't knew about it since it's the first time I ever heard of this unknown SEGA console. Another random trivia that I'm sure almost everyone knows is about that Zelda Game & Watch that preceded the DS double screen)

tell them to watch violence jack first... itll be funny

It's amazing that it's also the longest manga Go Nagai has ever made (on-going for 18 years from 70s to 1990, wow). Those OVAs inevitably cover a fragment of the whole series.
