Yesterday I finished Wonder Project J

Wonder Project J - Kikai no Shounen Pino (BR) (www.romsportugues.com)-250126-175537.png

I didn't know about this game until I saw its sequel Wonder Project J2, in a review of a challenge to finish all the N64 games on the channel called Colonia Contra Ataca. I really wanted to play the second game, the mechanics are really interesting and at least I've never seen a game that does it like that! My first reference to these games was that they looked like a Tamagotchi where you teach Tama to do tricks, but since it was also a point and click game I ended up putting off both the 2nd and the 1st.

The first time I played Wonder Project J
I didn't like it, I don't remember why but I thought it was too complex! But probably
I just didn't have enough time or I wasn't in the mood to play a point and click game, because I thought I didn't have enough control or that there wouldn't be much to do, now I think this game is very good even though it's part of the campaign, there were several interactions that honestly made me angry or smile, and there's a part of the game where you can simply farm items and money, I spent 100 days (in the game) just on that part, but it was because I didn't know what I was supposed to do, it's not one of my favorites but it will stay in my memory, I did the false ending but I liked more than the real ending. And I'm anxious to play some real point and click after this experience!

I played it many years ago on snes9x, just after the English translation came out, but never finished it.

There are a lot of old titles available on Dosbox and ScummVM emulators of this genre (P&C), but they are western games and don't have an anime feel. ??‍♂️

I don't exactly know what this game is, but I like his smile! ::yay

I've only beaten the second one. Amazing game!

I tried playing the first one once. I accidentally smacked Pino in the head so many times that I softlocked my game into a state where he permanently hates me ?

I don't have genres I don't like, I love games, anything is good, from beatemups and racing games to platformers and mahjong. I mean, a 5-hour break in an epic jRPG to play underwater handball league managment sim? Sure, why not!

On your topic, if you want to get into point and clicks but want to latch to another genre, Quest for Glory series is an RPG and adventure game in one. VGA version of first game removes more intimidating text parser and gives you mouse UI, but you still have RPG battles and skills you level up by doing them more (keep throwing them rocks).

Palworld for the survival genre. Adding anime characters and pokemons did the trick. I played it like it was crack while I was at it, but it's been a while since I stopped playing and I don't miss replaying it yet.

Roller Coaster Tycoon for the management sim. I only play occasionally these days but still it's a very smooth and simple experience.

I used to be a competitive game only kinda person but since i started playing PSO2 i just left the competitive scene little by little, dropped the fighting games and i manly stay on RPG a genre that i used to hate because of how "slow" it used to feel to me since turned based combat was something kind of the opposite from what i liked the most, now i just can't get enough of both turn based and action RPGs

PES2004 on ps2. I really don't like football. But PES always had some sort of RPG feeling to me.
So if you wonder if there is a better Fifa, there is, it's called PES.

That actually reminded of FIFA Street, i used to hate soccer games but that one was straight FIRE

I try to keep an open mind. There's a bunch of stuff I love now like Fire Emblem, CRPGs as a whole, Vocaloid etc. that I dismissed at first, thinking I wouldn't enjoy them only to give it a shot and think "Wait a minute, this fucking rules".

Ghen War on Sega Saturn was a worthwhile 3D FPS exclusive action-adventure game. For an early 1995 release environments have minimal graphical pop-ins with little frame-rate slow down even towards the final stages. Variety of missions from exploring large maps on the Moon and Mars to navigating corridors in Australia with the final mission taking place in NORAD. One of the few in its genre I enjoyed.

Fifa Street on the PS3 (the last game in the series) is so fun to play, it made me go back to the PS2 games. They are not as fun, but my PS3 died so...

The idea of roguelike/roguelite games looks good on paper but I suck so bad at playing them I usually just give up quickly and move on with other games, but that was until I tried The Binding of Isaac. Man, what a game. Being bad at it doesn't stop me from going back to play one more run.
