I don’t really miss these kind of ads. I mean don’t get me wrong, some are great. But this isn’t one of them. Most of the time, it’s companies stroking their ego and causing massive wars between fans. And sometimes, attack ads end up massively backfiring. Like the Saturn ad mocking the PS1 and the 3DO ad mocking the SNES and Genesis.

I like it. It's not so much Sega vs Nintendo overall since Nintendo stands to make money from it too, but more so Sonic vs Mario. But they 100% reproduced the tone they had in the '90s.
Somebody said Sega of Japan were the cool ones - in terms of making games, that's completely true. Sega of Japan made all the great games, Sega of America bought and set up a few studios that produced nearly nothing of value. But their aggressive marketing allowed Sega to take off for a while. So I appreciate that aspect at least.
