Did anyone else play valkyrie profile lenneth?

I came across that game js browsing online, and eventually downloaded it. and dude i LOVED it. I js wanted to know if anyone else played it, id love to talk abt it! i think its a pretty underrated psp/ps1 game (aside from the ps4 remake) id love for other ppl to know abt it, its truly a blast.

I played the PS1 version and really liked it but didnt get too far at that time. Combat is great, amazing art and soundtrack, and the story seems intriguing so I'll return for a full playthrough some day for sure. It also runs at 60fps which is neat.

Okay so, hard mode isn't actually hard due to the fact you get way more resources and the strongest gear, picking a lower difficulty is actually gonna make the game harder for ya. I also wouldn't really call the game underrated, just old, like everyone who played it, so it's not really talked about as much anymore.

i missed the original chapter on PS1, bought and played later on PSP
i think i spent two good months to fully complete it back then

another title coming from the experimental PS1 golden era

Im currently playing hard mode on psp i do think it could be a bit harder, i think the normal mode is pretty tough already for 1st time players

did play the ps1 version and the psp version

the first time you play it
it can be a hard and unforgiving game
because you do not know what items you are going to need and what character to use

its one of my favorit rpg games because you really need to use your brain in order to cleare certain dungeons some puzzles are hard

some dungeons are hard because of the monster in them and the fact that some dungeons are like a maze

the game is so fun because its really a challenge to finnish the game

the bosses hit hard and some bosses inflict serious ailment or status effect
so you really need to prepare before going into a boss fight

i started with the psp version then the ps1 i prefer the ps1 version, mainly for aesthetic reasons. i do wish the bosses were a bit more memorable tho

Hard Mode isn't hard if you actually know what you're doing and explore all the secrets yes, just like any other game. Grinding is also mandatory required in Hard due to all new recruits being Lv1 at default.
Try Hard Mode without getting the Creation Gem/Jewel at all, it definitely would frustrate you at some point.

Easy basically feels harder only because the limited items and equipments not allowing to do much grinding and thus you'll get destroyed in Caves of Oblivion.

Man that game is haunting and magical. I love the art direction in it so much. As a kid, the game seemed SO mysterious and impenetrable lol. Good stuff.

BTW, the localization in VP also probably needed some fixing due to them changing out most character names and even swapping Freyja and Freyr (become Frei and Freya respectively in the loc). Even the director admitted it himself in the interview that he knew Freyr was supposed to be a man.
