Devil May Cry 3 is my favorite DMC too!!! It was the first DMC I played and thanks to it (and God of War) Hack'n slash, along with horror games are my favorite games. I also love Devil May Cry 1 and 5, but third one is unsurpassed.

DMC3 has unmatched rule of cool. Never played a game with as much style. While I suck at the game I definitely enjoyed it.

DMC5 has way too many characters (I did not want to play as V and would rather play Lady despite V being cool. His play style is too obtuse for me).

Never played DMC4 but Nero is fucking hilarious in 5 and they definitely made him cooler.

The only dead weight character in DMC is the bloody V. He is so slow and boring to play as. My guy beating himself for nothing lol.

Honestly, among all the DMC games, I've only played the First Installment once.

Damn I like DMC 1, but only playing the first DMC is like only eating the starter salad at a restaurant and than skipping the entree and dessert lol

I agree with the DMC V take, cool game but V is a bit of a drag on higher difficulties and Nero is at his most fun when you unlock his devil trigger... which is AFTER beating the game, cool final mission reveal tho lol.

Overall experience for me is

1 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 2

but 3 has the best combat imo

idk man, something about 5 irks me the wrong way. im pretty sure its how Nero plays. i really dont like his swappable arm mechanic. also V is fucking dreadful to control, at least to me.

in fact i barely remember even playing as Dante even though ive beaten the game. the sour taste of 5Nero and V left more of an impact on me
