Developers you can just trust in

Remember that developers are rarely the problem in and of them selves. Its the publishers that cant be trusted.

That said. Hello Games came back in a big way for the gamers before their wallet. Larian is proving themselves to be pretty dependable. Mind you neither of them are owned by some assclown company like EA, they are self published.

Hmmm fromsoft I think and back when I was a kid, Konami and Capcom they used to release banger after banger

Ah yes m2 is quite nice indeed
I'll second M2! Probably the single most competent dev studio out there. Premium stuff.
M2 should make a Touhou Legacy Collection.
They are really good at making old games new again.
That's why I trust them.
I was going to say M2 too, but have you played their Castlevania Anniversary Collection? It really isn't very good at all... you can't even play some of the games in full-screen, and a lot of them are really buggy. The filter options for the Gameboy games are pretty terrible, too.

I have liked their Sonic ports in the past, but sometimes I think they focus too much on side content and not enough on providing the best versions of the base game possible.

It's the play testers that can't be trusted.

Oh yeah, I played almost the entire catalogue of their games, except GrimmGrimoire, I can't stand RTSs and this game is no different.
I like RTS, but as i age i do not have enough time to sink into them anymore sadly. Same goes for RPGs but i still boot up some Super Robot Wars or Fire emblem. Picked up vanillaware's recent release, Unicorn overlord just to show support for a dev team i admire.

Back in the day I grew used to expect good things from Capcom and Konami. Nowadays I don't "keep score" in that sense, I'd have to think about it and look up who developed what ?

I know, sounds crazy, trusting someone you don't even know anything about! Yet I'm sure many of you have played countless games that gave you this immense feeling of trust over their quality of games. So what developers you see their name and you immediatly know the game is in safe hands? Mine are: Vanillaware, Level-5 and Capcom (yes, even recent years Capcom).
Fromsoftware ,they just make "game" and the game is solid and nice

Oh man search more about Konami and what they did to creator of silent hill , Konami is like soft core hit@# to me

Supergiant Games deserve all the praise they've been getting. Banger after banger. The closest thing to a complaint I can think of is I'd rather they worked on a new game instead of Hades II to keep up the string of new and interesting worlds each time. But Hades II rocks so it's barely even a complaint.

Clover Studio and then PlatinumGames. They haven't always struck gold (Babylon's Fall, oof), but they have way more good games than bad.

Team Silent slayed with Silent Hill 1-3. 4 was a heavily flawed gem, but still a gem. Boy was it a great idea for Konami to disband them because they wanted western devs for the series going forward. No I'm not bitter at all, why would you say that? ::mad

FromSoftware hasn't disappointed me yet, though I'm not sure how I'd handle their older games. x)

Not a studio, but Fumito Ueda's games haven't let me down yet.

Remedy Entertainment has done more good than bad.

And finally, Arkane Studios. Not a perfect record, but some damned fine games.

There's more, but that's all that come to mind for now.

Tengo Project, responsible for the Ninja Warriors/Wild Guns/Pocky & Rocky/Shadow of the Ninja remakes, have scored nothing but home runs. Really special.

Falcom rarely puts out a bad game, even when they're not to my taste.

Out of the really big devs I'd say Capcom are the most consisent in terms of quality, but they're nowhere near their 90s golden age. RGG Studio has almost single-handedly restored SEGA's reputation (and conserved some of their most important arcade games).

Now if we're talking defunct developers, it was hard to fault Treasure, CAVE, Love-de-Lic, SCE Japan... Squaresoft had a legendary run before the merger with Enix.

Need your licensed game to not suck? WayForward is your go, even if you don't care about licenses you have Shantae and her huge... games to explorer with a replayability

In the Indie Side i had nothing but cheers for Yatchgames and their work in Shovel Knight and Cyber Shadow, currently awaiting their next game Mina the Hollower

They made Cybershadow? I thought they only worked on Shovel Knight lol.

In the past I would've said Treasure, Cave and Rare but today they're barely present.

I can still say that Hal Laboratory, Sora (Sakurai's company) and Enhance (Mizuguchi's) are solid.

I haven't played enough Platinum nor Cavia to tell sadly.

did a latter-day Eggerman/Lolo ever see a light of any day?

So personally my input on this might be different than others but:

CDProject Red, yes even with the Cyberpunk debacle. I actually enjoyed Cyberpunk since day one, granted I was playing it on an Xbox one X but point still stands, and even with the bullshit that came with the Cyberpunk stuff, they have improved the game over the years and now is such a different game since launch. Plus, I mean come on, it's the same guys that gave us Witcher. Was the gameplay always on point? Na, but the story telling is top tier.

Square enix, but specifically RPGs, 9/10 times that game is gonna be a fuckin banger, and its been a very long time since i've experienced a bad RPG from them and usually when I see a new rpg, again BANGER.

Atlus, need I say more?

I rotflmaoed @ this

did you ever play the 3DS version of pirates curse? best use of 3D to maximize "screen real estate" ever! Hahaha

She might live in a tiny shack (with no bathtub!) on a small island but she's got huge tracts o' land on the small screen :D

If I spot one of these names in the credits, I will buy whatever it is with no hesitation

Suda51
Hideki Kamiya
Swery65
D3 Publisher
Grasshopper Manufacture
Platinum Games
Clover Studio, now Clovers

I feel that puzzle games can get quickly limiting for them but I wouldn't mind seeing a new shot at it.

I didn't know they made a PC game.

I think that BoxBoy is basically the spiritual successor of that franchise in some way.

Capcom, Falcom, and KoeiTecmo for me (Except Dynasty Warriors IX, we don't talk about that)
