I'm feeling like cheking out games to solve mysteries and puzzles. Anything goes but if it's in the old PC Adventure style (like Monkey Island) then better
Might be a bit of a stretch, but if you can stomach old text-parser point & click games, then I can recommend The Crimson Diamond. A fairly recent indie that's very authentically styled after things like Colonel's Bequest for example.
Also, The Case of the Golden Idol. Genuinely a fantastic experience. This one is probably quite a bit more approachable. Without the DLC it's a bit on the short side though.

I was going to recommend this series (on ds, but now also on Switch): silly and weird humor, point-and-click and puzzles solved by mixing and using items, I loved them all, I got both of them physical and treasured them for a long time. I was going to link them but I'm a bit shocked I haven't found them here on the repo... or is it me who can't find them (I'm tired, so it's also possible)??
@Spike I tag you just in case, if the games are here I apologize, if the two ds titles are not here take a look at them, if you think they are worth to upload
The first two titles have been released on ds; the third on 3ds (jap only, it's English Patched), but now all three of them have been released on Switch in a single collection.
Also "Another Code / Trace Memory" (ds title or the re-release on Switch), same developers as "Hotel Dusk", same graphics, very emotional plot and great atmosphere
Started playing the game for MacGyver like character and situations and then the I enjoyed a surprising mystery to figure out!!! It also have a 2nd game but despite how the 1st game is legendary 2nd game is what I wish it didn't exist. It is really bad and buggy.
What seems like cozy slice of life turns into murder mystery in a peaceful town!!!! "But how generic murder is" but there is a twist!!!! If you like Persona 4 I would recommend Persona 1 and 2.
Another murder mystery with a twist. "My body killed a person but it wasn't me!!!"
- Bioshock series
Mystery is the middle name of this series that greater mysteries are connected to each other after you are done experiencing what the series had to offer!!!
A visual novel. You used to be a pen pal of a girl when you were kid but then one day she didn't send any letter to you. You tought "well it's how it's, I guess she was bored" but after 15 years you randomly found out her real last letter that was supposed to send to you 15 years ago with a dire message!!!
"I've killed someone... We won't speak again..." But WTF, what happened to this situation!!! I must find this girl!!!

Oh, then maybe "Touch Detective" are on repo already! I also tried to look for random ps2 titles I'm sure I got from here few days ago and didn't found them :O

There's also a couple more but these are less challenging and more just for the narrative, I liked the characters and plot tho:
- Duck Detective: The Secret Salami
- Duck Detective: The Ghost Of Glamping
- Detective Grimoire: Secret of the Swamp
- Tangle Tower (from same developers of Detective Grimoire)
Both games have stories revolving around a mystery. Until Dawn has collectibles to find that actually serve a purpose, they reveal more about the story's mystery and finding one particular one will actually affect the game's ending. You also have to use your brain a little bit to make sure everyone survives until the end of the game.
The Sexy Brutale is a mix of stealth and puzzle solving as you repeatedly rewind time to try and figure out how to stop the murders of various people while also trying to figure out the mystery of the game's story. Some of the developers also worked on The Invisible Hours which I haven't played, but I heard it is a murder mystery game.
EDIT: Oh and there's also this, which I played once and it was interesting but I didn't finish it
Add for the topic: "The Longest Journey", I always recommend it in topic like these (it's old-pc-adventure-style).
Game from around 2000, two settings (real city but futuristic and fantasy world), very emotional plot here as well.
You can find it on Steam (on sale right now, very cheap)
The Longest Journey is an amazing graphical adventure, where the player controls the protagonist, April Ryan, on her journey between parallel universes.

A short comedy adventure. Investi-Gator is here to solve the crimes! He's not really clear on what the crime is, but he'll do his best. And as long as his brother Insti-Gator is around, he'll ALWAYS have someone to trust!
The Return of the Obra Dinn. A missing ship returns with the whole crew dead and you are contracted to find out what happened to each crew member. It's basically a big logic game. It's a really fun modern game and it runs on a potato.
Gemini rue, is at the correct sweet spot for me, there is exploration, real walking, and combat is interesting. Its like good AA action adventure in 2D indie budget. I wish there is more like this.
