So, a new Mega Man game was just announced. Kinda wild. But what’s even more wild is that HOLY HECK WE HAVE A BOSS DESIGN CONTEST FOR IT!

So, yeah. I request RGT to make some sick Mega Man OC’s. Have fun!

I'm sick of new Mega Man games

When the hell is Capcom going to remember that Mega Man X exists? Or Dino Crisis? It's always more classic Mega Man, more Resident Evil. Same ole shit.

Just like how Nintendo keeps ignoring that Star Fox exists.

This is a pretty cool throwback to the old NES era Robot Master design contests. I'd probably submit one if I could draw worth a damn ::sailor-embarrassed

"We're looking for designs of a Robot Master who has a right arm with immense suction powers!"

GO, PEOPLE OF RGT.

GO AND CREATE A SUCC MAN FOR CAPCOM.

They've literally only released two new classic Mega Man titles in the span of 10 years.

There hasn't even been a new Classic Mega Man game in several years.

The Robot masters I really wanna see but will probably never manifest in a billion years...

Super Man - Blue and Red bot that fires Heat beams, freeze gas and tosses giant rocks like Guts Man
Bat Man - Black and gret bot that fires Bat projectiles at you
Spider Man - Web attacks and has reactive AI

Maybe if copyright law was magically abolished...::eggmanlaugh

Well the Rockman boss character contest is back, aka the one where a certain Murata Yusuke, who would later be the famous manga artist behind the One Punch Man series, was one of the winners during the Famicom era. Has Capcom are against AI? Well I gotta use my drawing skills to the test after so many years.

AI Man produces wonky looking versions of other MM enemies, so they come out with extra eyes or missing a foot. The weapon lets you do the same, but it's good guys... so like a gun that shoots out Dr Light and Rush or whatever but they don't look right. Also it uses all your energy in one shot.

Selfie Man is invincible while he's posing, you have to shoot the environment enough to give him no good shots before he can fight. The weapon lets you temporarily freeze enemies when you take your own selfies later, and in the ending you see all the photos you took. If you don't take enough, there are simply empty placeholder spots, like that X-Japan game on Sega Saturn.

NFT Man is an ape who is worth more bolts if you kill him faster, because his value erodes over time. His weapon shoots coconut bombs that do less damage the longer they're on the screen.

Cyber Man turns into a weird looking boxy silver truck that has the windows break out the first time it takes damage, and when you beat him he auto-drives into the wall and explodes. His weapon is listed as doing X damage but it really only does 50% of that damage because its creator overpromised

Time to start designing Videogame Man, with console controllers in place of hands and feet ::thinking

Do we need to ask? Mega Man 11 is the top selling entry in the entire franchise. Even outperforming the compilations.

The contest said to make a robot master based on a vacuum cleaner. Is that right? Or do we make our own robot master?

There is a slim chance we may get a Robot Master that uses wormholes or black holes as a gimmick.

But with how Capcom is, they mean a literal vacuum cleaner

So Suckerman will be canon :loldog

It's based on this "robot with suction arm"

Basically it's like dtiys, you make your own. Like mine for example (though not finished yet), I changed the shape of his head a little

Probably when this new game sells.
Classic historically sells the most. And truth be told, it’s way better to start with the game series with no serialized plot to regain audience interest first.

Dino Crisis, idk. It wasn’t mentioned when Capcom was talking about core franchises unfortunately, which probably means they’re not gonna focus on it for now. But hey, at least there’s Okami Sequel.

You're kinda trolling, right? Megaman barely got games.

Also Mega Man X is Mega Man...

Because the last one has sold badly, as simple as that.

Answering about Star Fox.

The real reason isn’t that, as Nintendo has not typically shelved series’ for selling poorly only. The big killer for Star Fox is that they can’t come up with new gameplay paradigms that aren’t just gimmicks. It’s the same thing that killed F-Zero, basically: they want to innovate if they’re going to make a new game.

That too. I am sure Bananza was the first big DK game because they weren't sure what to do to make it feel unique gameplay wise.
