Wasn't sure where to post this so I put it in the general online games forums since the other genre specifics don't really cover asymmetrical co-op 4v1 horror games.
Well anyway, has anyone here played it? I've clocked in well over 1000 hours over the span of a few years. I've got a love hate relationship with the game but a friend of mine started playing it recently and with the new Springtrap chapter I've kind of been interested again. What do you guys main? I'm a killer main through and through, used to play a lot of Wraith and Oni until Pyramid Head got added and then he became my main. Then Nemesis got added to the mains and now Xenomorph is in there too.
As for non DLC killers I'd say its still good old Wraith alongside The Knight and Artist.
Share your experiences if you have any. Or complaints, that's what most of us DBD fans to anyway.

I recently reached the 1k hours. I am not proud of this.

I remember I first played years ago when they gave the game for free on with PS plus, and thought it was cool. A couple years ago I suddenly remembered about it and bought it on Steam, and since then I've been playing again. At first I used to play killer mostly, but since my friends got it and started playing with me I play more surv. I'd say I play a bit of everything, I like to keep it varied, but my favorite killers are Singularity, Unknown, Nemesis, Clown, Ghostface and Myers, and I've been enjoying Kaneki a lot lately.

The game can easily get on your nerves, but honestly despite all the reputation it gets about it being broken and having a toxic community, I enjoy it a lot generally speaking and think it's clear why it's still the undisputed asymmetrical horror game king after 9 years when most others are nearly dead a year later. The licensed chapters are also so much hype, it's really an experience I barely get with any other games right now.

Agreed with everything you said pretty much. Feel like the issues only start rearing their heads in once you hit around the 100 hour mark, but even then it isn't something that would make the game unplayable.
Game is definitely hard to get into for beginners though but good on Behaviour for making it easier and easier to grind and play as time goes on. Credit where credit is due.
I used to play a lot of survivor back before the flashlight and Dead Hard changes. I gradually shifted to killer more and more and eventually my friends stopped playing the game entirely and I just switched completely to killer.

I don't have this installed but if anyone here wants to play with me regularly I'll reinstall it? Let me know.

PS. That's why I've uninstalled it as I find it better with friends to be honest.

DBD is my comfort game. I have many many hours clocked on this. Currently play on PS5 as a survivor main.

The Knight
Also know as OVER POWER!
i never played pc version or 3d phone version(both had so much size!)
This guy poisen skillis wrost and first time I see this guy on video a camper use it! Good design but big trouble!
Pyramid Head
Best best for killer choice for it style!
I actually like new one:animatronic!
It perks are good and his axe throwing is great!nit over power but still power full.
my favorite point is scream perk which makes hiding harder.
I remember a surviver hide near door and killer couldn't see them.then scream perk reveal him!

Actually on release Knight wasn't that great and after a while became absolutely awful. He got a buff but he still isn't up there. Camping doesn't really work with him since the other 2 Knights despawn but he's absolutely great for map pressure.

I tend to play killer mostly considering my friends have long wised up on the fact that DBD made them miserable years ago. And also I'm not the best at survivor in general :loldog

I jump around a bunch of killers usually but rn I've started playing Knight and playing a lot more Xenomorph. I'll be playing Nemesis when the Walking Dead survivors release.

knight had some good design and some good move but seriously that buff become cursed when you can't run!before updates on his first release one attack and his poison buff freak out survivers.

One of my favorite is oni! it's demon rush is best part! I like how fast he move around the map and hunt others. It's a shame in some maps using his demon rush become so hard and have a heavy chance to hit walls and object. I also like the Ghostface(character haven't seen his gameplay yet) and the one who turn invisible (forget name)

Who like to be one running away when you can be the one hunt others?

It can be fun at times! Just usually gotta be in the mood to be in the other shoes of a horror movie cast
Well expect time survivers bully the killer. I remember some time For alien they stuck it in a corner and burn it over and over again!

Sub-300 hour Killer Main (Doctor, Ghost Face, Legion, Dracula), I kinda play it as a comfort game, something to blow the steam off. I like to experiment with killers from time to time, to see if I can be cozy outside of my comfort zone (spoiler - I can't, most of the time).

Granted, I'm also not a salty bastard about not getting a kill or anything like that, though I will get a bit irate when I get pallet-stunned from range due to bad ping or some such nonsense.

Walking Dead survivors release
They JUST announced that earlier while I was out and I was like
Yo what no fucking way what the hell!

and the one who turn invisible (forget name)
The Wraith, one of my OG killers from way back when, I still love his gameplay. Simple but fun. I love Oni too though, one of the first killers I unlocked back when I first started playing.

I'm a bit interested in trying this out again. I played it very briefly with a friend group when it was very new, but didn't like it at all. It just felt like you walked up to levers and engines and watched a meter go up while avoiding the boss player.
Is the gameplay more varied nowadays? I like how it's gotten so many crossovers, and as a total loser I thought the Springtrap model looked really cool.

There's a lot of new killers with new powers, and perks with different effects which may change your playstyle, but the actual gameplay is pretty much the same I'd say (at least that's my impression. I didn't play when it first came out). Many players get bored by the generator repairing objective, and prefer to be in chase with the killer as much as possible because they find it more exciting.

I heard in past killers able to close the gates!not sure about it.
playstyle
i like those surviver use flashlight to blind the killer and always one who keep killers busy for others to fix generators!
His kill has one of best.I remember there were plenty of good skins fpr it like iron titan from attack on titan and samurai costume.

Basically, playing Survivor falls into one of three camps:

1. Gen-Focus, you work the gens, they are your only objective.
2. Team-Player, you work with others to make gens pop faster, lean into altruism, heal wounded players, unhook when possible.
3. Goblin-Mode, your goal is not the generators, it's not altruism, it's to be the biggest pain in the ass for the killer that you can be. Instigate, loop, stun, blind, do everything in your power to keep the killer occupied and your adrenaline pumping.
