Game Description:

CRW: Metal Jacket (CRW メタルジャケット) is an RPG/Strategy video game published by WiZ and developed by Team Kikai released on October 7th, 1994 for the PC-98.

This is an isometric strategy rpg game that plays similar to something like the original X-COM, but with mecha pilots and no base building. It has also been compared to Front Mission but is actually older than Front Mission by a few months. This is another high quality translation done by the team who worked on E.V.O. and Appareden.

Like Tuned Heart this game is mostly all controlled by the Mouse. (Press F12 to capture mouse in NP21W)

I highly recommend the emulator Neko Project 21/W for playing on Windows. It's the most feature complete emulator for the NEC PC-9801 and is in active development receiving frequent updates. Use this guide for help on how to obtain and configure the emulator.

I played this for a while at one point back in 2020 and was pretty far into it and crashed on me. I love this game and being a fan of Front Mission made me like it more.

I remember I played this game on DOS back in the day. Good game.

Looks great, but these are the most noseless anime girls I've seen in a while.

Until the last few days, I had no idea the PC-98 had so many fan translations. Makes me very interested in hopping into that particular emulation scene.

I'm not really a fan of strategy games, but this one looks gorgeous.

I'm pretty sure this game was later ported to the PS1 in Japan.

It's me or it's Front mission with waifus?
You could consider this more closer to proto-Front Mission as this game actually came out a year before Front Mission did for the SNES in '95, with CRW: Metal Jacket and Power DoLLs both being some of the DNA for Front mission back in '94.
If you like Front Mission? I highly recommend it. It's a good game.

And just like with Words Worth and Tuned Hearts? I never clicked download so fast.
Also the cover art and the second screenshot? This is why I love the NEC PC-9801.
