Indie Cruelty Squad, the f is going on?

Just played 2 missions and barely understood anything. What's going on and why can i take organs? Stock? What's this world? And is there a way to have a better chance at not losing your health in 2 seconds and turning into a ticking bomb?

Cool game but i think it leaned a little too heavy into the ugly and weird for the sake of being ugly and weird.

Just experiment with different equipment and tactics you'll figure it out after the first few levels i believe in you.
