After seven years of radio silence, there is a new sign of life from Crazy Taxi. A teaser video has been released on the official X account, setting the stage for the upcoming revival. A new installment in the cult series was announced back in 2023 at The Game Awards. However, since that initial announcement, there has been complete silence surrounding the project. The latest post breaks the silence that has reigned on the channel since 2019. The short clip shows the iconic taxi sign lighting up on the roof of the typical yellow convertible.

I just feel like a new Crazy Taxi is doomed. While I'm still excited for it, you can never recreate the magic of the original. The music alone, The Offspring and Bad Religion, was so important to that game that the HD remaster felt like it was severely lacking because it was missing.

Sega better not fuck this one up. Love this series, if they shove in microtransactions or other moden bullshit of the sort, I'm... dunno, gonna do something bad.
And now that I think about it, it's Sega, the PC release will definitively have denuvo, ugh. (if it releases there anyway)
But at least there's people actively cracking that cancer lately, so it won't be an issue for long.

There's nothing inherently wrong with that as long as the gameplay is good and there'll probably be different modes for all we know. I reserve judgment until I see actual gameplay footage trailer or presentation. That said, I'm not gonna be overly cynical about it either.
