I actually kind of hate the practice and concept of covers. Especially in the modern internet age when you have access to every song ever created at your fingertips, why would you want to listen to a band play something they didn't even write worse than the band that wrote it?

That isn't to say all covers are bad. But I don't really enjoy listening to covers hardly ever.

That's fair, but I think many covers are better, especially many covers of 80's songs in particular. Yes, there are great 80's songs but a lot sound too "fluff" to me: they have great lyrics and composition, but I think many are hindered by the sound of the time. @spectresfrommercury brought up Marilyn Manson, and I think that cover of "Tainted Love" is much better than Soft Cell's original. I think it says a lot that even people that aren't the biggest Manson fans (I am not), still find this a banger.

Yea, idk. Covers just don't really do anything for me. There are some I find ok and listen to in occassion, but I just don't like covers. They take up track space on an album that another original song could have occupied.

I DESPISE cover/tribute bands, a lot. They represent the death of art and destroy local music scenes.

Well, I mostly know his work from the Streets of Rage games. I'm pretty sure he's worked on some of the Ys games.
But this has probably nothing to do with him. Aren't the StepMania songs taken from free license, CC, etc. sources?

It totally has nothing to do with him, even if they did source the music from official means it would be from Konami. But yeah pretty sure youre right about it being taken from copyright free sources, although it might be different since this is a older version from 2005.

YES! Finally found it! This was another cover I wanted to post, but could not find. You will NEVER hear act 4-2 the same after listening. There are many covers of this song that are underwhelming, but give this one a listen! The bends and fills, incredible! And the solo is so perfect (epic begins at 0:56) and fitting: you FEEL Ryu's determination with every note! Brings tears to my eyes ;_; ;_;
