Could the N64 have faithful ports of the Hyper NeoGeo 64 games?

I have been looking at some of the Hyper Neo Geo 64 games recently and wondering what could have been if these titles where more popular and SNK where not going bankrupt at the time.

The games look like they could have had faithfully ports to the system, considering the graphical fidelity of the games native to the n64, imho this was totally doable.

What do you all think? Would an attempt been worthy it? Considering the n64 was screaming for more beat-em up titles.

Has anyone played these Hyper Neo Geo titles?

I've seen videos. They are definitely nowhere as impressive as SNK's 2D stuff. Maybe the N64 could have pulled them off, but I don't think the cartridges or the system would have enough program ROM compared to the arcade.

Your threads are quite specific.
I don’t think the n64 has the power. It was an oddball console because Nintendo always wanted to seem special.

By "faithful ports" does that mean the same graphics, sound, etc?
Have you seen any N64 games with this same level of detail?
Maybe porting by compromising the textures and other details? These arcade games seem to be too much for an N64 to handle - but that is just my instinct; I am not a coder.
I feel it would be like trying to port NES games to the Atari 2600.

For me, i think faithful could be as close to the arcade as one could get, i know the sound has some problems, but if we listen to ocarina of time, i cannot help but see potential there also.

Not at all. It would of been watered down. Possibly worse than the PSX versions.
Your probably right on the fact they may not have seen a return on investment on this.

But i am of the mind of hardware capability of hardware vs efforts and skill in game creatores, like impossible ports and the like.

With hardware in mind alone, there are many consoles such as the Sega Saturn which on paper where more powerful then the PSX, but then not many game came out that could use said power, with only truly exceptional companies who put the work in, showing what the saturn could do.

Think Power Slave, Panza Dragoon RPG, Last Bronx, Marvel super heros (no ram cart).

As a result the PSX was seen as superior, and had more titles to attract games.

So with that in mind, i am wondering what an exceptional programmers / game studio, could have achieved whit the N64, and then i look at the hyper neo geo and think what if?

You just have to look at games like Jet Set Gemini was very graphically impressive, and that was without the N64 ram cart,

Star wars shadow of empire, was also very impressive and still holds up today imo.

It’s… possible? But I think the architecture isn’t as similar as we would all like to think.

I can’t give much more perspective from a hardware standpoint, but from an industry standpoint, SNK never really worked with Nintendo very often. And, while the N64 wasn’t the worst selling thing ever in Japan, that would be the market these games would be sold to. I just don’t really see a world where their paths would cross, even though it could have been cool. I think it would’ve been far more likely for SNK to port to the SEGA Dreamcast instead, as they had a history of preferring to port to SEGA’s machines.

Is specific a good thing? Lagit asking as i wish to improve my writing.

My method right now is to just post about things that come to mind as a gamer, when i am working on other things in hops of starting a conversation. But considering my reads recently, that might not be working out so well, so may be my topics are too niche?
