I'm not sure if compilation patches are allowed here, but recently I found a re-translation patch for Mega Man: The Wily Wars that changes Dr. Wily's line where he calls Mega Man a "metallic moron" to something more inline with the Japanese original. Only one problem: It's only intended for the Genesis Mini rom and nothing else. So instead of waiting for the romhacker to release a patch for the Retro-Bit version, I decided to use a hex editor to copy the edited text to my patched Retro-Bit rom and release a compilation patch of my choosing.

Rockman World Fixer Upper ver.1.0.5 by Josephine Lithius
  • Enemy invulnerability time has been all but eliminated. This means that enemies can take damage more frequently and reliably. No more “missed” shots!
  • The default weapon (the Buster) has been sped up to match its 8-bit counterpart. Watch those lemons fly!
  • The default weapon and some boss weapons can be fired more rapidly! Hammer that “fire” button and launch waves of projectiles!
  • Rockman Mega Man pulls his Buster back a little sooner after firing!
Mega Man Wily Wars Proto Man Size Fix ver.1.1 by Stifu
  • Replaces Proto Man’s sprite with a bigger one drawn by JackelZXA.
  • Compatible with most other patches.
Wily Tower retranslation ver.1.0 by CoolCatBomberMan
  • Rewrites Dr. Wily's speech in the Wily Tower segment, using hondoori's translation of the JP script as reference.
  • Dr. Light's dialogue in the weapon/item selection menu is given a minor touch-up, to better convey that the player needs to equip at least one item.
(Only intended for the Genesis Mini rom; had to carry the changes from the patched Genesis Mini version to the Retro-Bit version)

Do note that, while emulators like BlastEm will complain, saying "Didn't remap chunk starting at 200000 for TMSS because it has flags 0", the patch will still work. I even tested this on a Mega EverDrive on a TMSS Sega Mega Drive/Genesis console.

With the release of the Mega Hack v2.0 by mattw77777, this ALMOST makes my compilation obsolete, with one key difference: It doesn't include the minor re-translation hack by CoolCatBomberMan. So here are some options:
  1. Patch the Genesis Mini ROM with the retranslation patch first (since bps files require matching hashes) then the Mega Hack patch for said ROM, since the author suggest the Genesis Mini ROM for emulators.
  2. For flashcart users, patch the Retro-Bit ROM with my compilation patch first, then patch it with the Mega Hack. Apparently v2.0 fixes some things that I haven't even checked with "my" patch (I haven't played this game for a while now).
  3. Disregard the first two options and download my retranslation addendum for mattw77777's Mega Hack.

Have anyone managed to apply that patch along with "SRAM+ Proto Man Size Fix" patch? Both patches are .bps so I can't get to apply them on already modified roms.

According to Retro-Bit themselves, they made the game more optimized, meaning less slowdown (some of it is still there, just not as bad as the original releases) and is compatible with both NTSC and PAL consoles.

The downside is that the Retro-Bit release has a nasty bug that deletes your save after you power off your console, even if you're playing the rom on a flashcart with an SD card.

would you like me to add your patches to the mega hack?

You're better off asking CoolCatBomberMan for permission to use their translation instead. You can hold onto my addendum whenever you DO get permission.
All I did was do a quick and dirty job via hex-editing. Took like an hour or two to figure it all out.

ok. i sent him a message on rhdn. we'll see what he says. thanx! also, i dont gave any problems with saving on the retrobit version with my mega everdrive pro
