Comfort movies/tv shows

Those two movies are to this day my medicine to keep me sane . Snake Plissken is some sort of idol for me .

Lets just say , those old movies are my inspiration and something that sculptured my personality and taste . Not all of them did i watched as a child but as a teen and adult , it showed me something that aspired me what still to this day , hard to archieve again . Simple and untamed Badassery drenched in Rock´n Roll and artistic style .

This might be a basic pick, but Regular Show is my absolute go-to for a show to put on and zone out. It's gives me that fuzzy feeling when I watch it, it's evergreen, baby!!!

Comfort live action movie for me would be Stand By Me and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Comfort live action tv show would be Friends and Shararat. Comfort animated movie would be Wallace & Gromit: The Curse Of Were Rabbit and Toy Story. Comfort animated show would Shaun The Sheep, Tom & Jerry, and Oggy & The Cockroaches. Did not include any anime here, because that has a separate forum for it.

Movies: Karate Kid 3, Back To The Future, God Bless America, The Art Of Getting By, Zombieland, Breakfast Club, Wildlike, Janie Jones (specially this last one)...

TV shows: Freaks & Geeks, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, Goosebumps, Amphibia, Star Vs The Forces Of Evil, Gravity Falls, Slam Dunk!, Case Closed!, Digimon Tamers, Pokemon...

I loved the original Toy Story so much. I came out when I was six years old and I was obsessed with it. Wanted an IRL Buzz Lightyear so bad, but had to made do with and IRL Turbo Man from Jingle All The Way (which is kinda funny considering that the film is just about the mass hysteria over the Buzz Lightyear dolls). I also lowkey love the LGMs and am still rather mad that they haven't made one accurate to the movie (most of them are solid plastic and not rubber squeaky toys) since the Burger King Kids Meal figure

TS 2 and 3 are equally as good, with 2 probably being the best. Jessie's song still makes me cry like a baby and I'm miffed that practically no Buzz toy has his utility belt these days (but that was probably the point ala "Malibu Stacy's New Hat")

Really nice and fun movies :) well maybe not for Edward scissor hands that's for sure (there's more but these are the ones I could think of)

Disney's Hercules is incredibly comforting and motivating in equal measure.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit is just endlessly entertaining. Bob Hoskins is tremendous, as is the menacing Christopher Lloyd. Masterful direction from Zemeckis, with a brilliant score to boot.

House M.D. is quite a quiet drama, with a decent dose of comedy injected into it to keep things lively. The medical mysteries and the interpersonal relationships make for great entertainment, and the Massive Attack opening theme puts me into some kind of trance.

And one last one I'll add, in-keeping with my last medical selection, Scrubs is the ultimate comfort show for me. I love every single one of the characters, the absurdity, the comedy, the heartbreak and the absolutely pitch-perfect soundtrack. This show has to be seen with its original soundtrack. I've heard recent releases have tried to change the song selection due to copyright issues. That is a travesty. Thank God I obsessively saved my pocket money to buy each season on DVD when they first came out.

This movie, an isekai about an average american paraplegic kid goes to fantasy world protected by kung fu kangaroos (but financed by Chinese American doctors), has a nostalgic effect on me. First, my mind somehow associates it with the King of Fighters fighting game series since I watched this at the same time I discovered KOF. Second, I like Kangaroos. Third, It also resembles something I was previously working on creative-wise related.

Also, this movie I suspect (more like a guess really), inadvertently inspired Kung Fu Panda which came out 11 years later, another favorite movie of mine. There are several points they have in common but ingeniously inverted in KFP. Both movies are set in a world where fur...I mean...Anthropomorphic characters exist. Protagonist admires kung fu heroes except one's a kid and the other an overgrown ummm...man-child Panda. Kung fu heroes reminiscent of Sentai media. Super powerful evil kung fu villain check. Old guy kung fu master check. Kung Fu Panda however has the prot become the chosen one instead of using mcguffin item instead and makes himself the main kung fu hero even over the sentai group in a non Gary Sue way (props for that).
