Classic RPG recommendations?

and it sucks, I suppose you are smarter than this.
You made a whole statement saying "Disc 2 sucks," like if that means that Xenogears sucks overall.
It's funny because I saw many people disregarding Xenogears just because disc 2 was rushed; that is a dumb reason to disregard Xenogears.

Lunar and Lunar Eternal Blue (Sega CD versions)

Some won't agree with the Sega CD Lunar's but OG is always the best experience, for me anyway.
Lunar 2 for the Sega CD maybe can be better (overworld being more open), but Lunar 1? Lunar on the PS1 is a HUGE step up from the Sega CD version. I don't want to say this, but it seems you got some nostalgia towards the Lunar 1 Sega CD version to say this. "Best experience": I'm sure most people will get a better experience with the PS1 remakes.

Breath of Fire 3 combat is not bad (I mean, it's basic as shit; at least Xenogears has got combos, which makes the game less repetitive), but aren't you going to mention the exaggerated enemy encounter rate? Breath of Fire generally suffers from this, but especially 3.
Haven’t played 3, I actually meant 4.
I do want to play the others one day though lol
And yeah I concede the combat is kinda basic as shit, but the fact that I can play as both the protagonist and villain makes up for it, I don’t think a single other RPG does that

I found the PS1 remakes extremely annoying because the enemies are visible but basically unavoidable since the dungeons are narrow and monsters walk too fast. In the end you fight more.

Totally, i found this issue as well, kinda pointless to have enemies on map if you cant avoid most of them.

Yeah but you can play as the villain only on BOF4, i recognize that is a HUGE plus for this game, wish more RPGs did that.

Arc the Lad: Twilight of Spirits on the PS2 has the exact same concept as BoFIV, you alternate between playing as the human "hero" in the human world and the half-demon in the demon world. It's a very underrated RPG, one of my favorites on the PS2. It's not as much of a strategy RPG as the previous games, the battle system still uses movement and stuff but it's on a small scale and generally it's built more like a traditional RPG.

Solotorobo - Red The Hunter - Nds
Phantasy star portátil 1 e 2 - Psp
Fábrica de runas 3 e 4 - Ds and 3Ds
Disgaea Tarde de Escuridão - PS2
Crônicas de Valquíria 2 - Psp
Sobrevivente do diabo Overclock - 3ds

Dayum you guys really know your stuff.

Can't say something that hasn't already been said, but from my experience, Live a Live, Star Ocean, Lufia 1 and 2, Dragon Quest 3 and 6 would be right up your alley. If you want Action RPGs you will love Diablo 2 (definitely more than 1), and if you want Tactical RPGs try ANYTHING from Nippon Ichi (some people say "NIS America games" but they only do the dubbing and releasing outside of Japan)

If you're open to Strategy RPGs, I can't recommend the Fire Emblem series enough.

You should play Etrian Odyssey now.

Like play the original DS games (or HD collection if it's on sale again), then 4, the Untold remakes, then 5 and Nexus. They're fun RPGs with cool map gimmicks and the second best use of the DS touch screen.

It's also a nice little babystep into preparing to play the original Wizardry games.

Other RPGs I can recommend:

7th Dragon has some good fan translations and a nice aesthetic over a mildly dark series and some Etrian Odyssey/Wizardry-inspired combat. The PSP games also have Hatsune Miku in them as a minor questline and a music toggle if that does anything for you.

I think someone already posted Dragon Quest at you, I recommend the SNES and HD-2D of III or the PS2 version of VIII as your first game. Everyone's saying to start with 5, but that's a main course, you need to start with some kind of appetizer.

I can recommend the Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven remake as an entry point into the SaGa series, it actually explains its mechanics very well while also dropping you into its narrative tricks.
