Who's your favorite Belmont?
Simon is the absolute hunk of a man. Doesn't matter how much obstacles Dracula throws to prevent mankind from invading his castle, Simon will just walk straight to it and do it. The "I need a hero" song is referring specifically to him. Vampire super strength becomes irrelevant once you're a
MAN enough.
I used to choose Richter over him in Smash without a second guess, but upon replaying Castlevania Chronicles I appreciate him more.
The embodiment of Castlevania's cool factor, He's dressed like a Street Fighter character and is 0% ashamed about it.
I also like his development in SotN. I have yet to beat this game but also couldn't stop myself from reading the Wiki. For now I know he was manipulated into defending the revival of Dracula, but I like to believe they had to hurt his ego in cold and calculated ways rather than just resorting to magical mind control. If anyone want to inform me on this feel free.
He looks like a pussy in his Netflix series and I doubt I'll ever watch it.
In contrast, I only know Trevor Belmont in him in his Netflix series. He's unquestionably badass, but not without his human aspects, such as sinking into alcoholism at his worst and having to balance a relationship and adventuring affairs at his best.
Had to resort to fan arts cause I don't like his official art very much.
His clothes screams the 90s, and like Richer I'm glad they went along with it.
On all of my 17 playthroughs of Castlevania 64 I never used anyone but Carrie, but upon reading the wiki I found this:
Growing up, he was often teased by his schoolmates, as they couldn't believe that he was actually directly connected to the famous bloodline. These experiences polluted Reinhardt's mind with feelings of self-doubt, though they eventually manifested and strengthened his will to prove himself as a warrior.
Which I like because it reveals he has a soft side beneath his macho appearance. This further brought into light (literally) when he prevents a vampire woman from committing suicide for trying walking into a spot of light, going against his beliefs that all vampires are evil because he couldn't stand someone ending their life
In my headcanon, he and Carrie becomes acquaintances during their journey. At first, he treats Carrie like a defenseless child and Carrie hates it because according to canon material she dislikes adults. But along the way they learn to understand each other and they both see that there's more than meets the eye.
Honorable mentions
BASED Belmont from Captain N and Twink Belmont from Wii.
