Have any of y'all tried this?

This meaning Cine2Nerdle, natch.

You get a starting movie, and then have 25 seconds to "connect" to another film that shares someone on the cast and crew with the first. So on and so forth, until one person is stumped. It's gamified with win conditions - like connecting 9 Horror movies or 8 Fantasy - and some options like Skip or Pass to bail you out if stick you with something you've never heard of.

Personally I have a movie trivia-poisoned brain - it's terminal - so I'm in love with the game. (Me and my coworkers used to play a really similar game while cleaning theaters a million years ago.)

Anyone else try it and/or want to take a run at The Throne? (Jk I'm like 82/85 Wins/Losses right now, I ain't shit.)

I'm awful at this. I could probably do well in a Video Game or Music equivalent but i just don't know enough about Movie Directors and Actors to play this game.

Seven degrees of Kevin Bacon, but with a custom starting point?
Pretty much! It's a little more complicated with the extra elements, and it's hooked into IMDB so you can actually name directors, composers, and writers in addition to actors. (Funny enough, that makes Shakespeare, Jane Austen, or any popular author with a lot of adapted material an option to link to.)

Edit: @jfc A video game version would be interesting, they'd probably need an api for MobyGames or something to make that work.

Mobygames would be ideal but most developers are lazy so they'd just slap a Metacritic API into the thing instead of using something decent.

I've played a "Seven degrees of Ryu from Street Fighter" game before, but that was before he got into Fortnite.

Nah I just open the page, click battle, then it immediately hit me with a long text from a…show? book? I don't even know lol. I just closed it right after that, sorry to the opponent though (babygirl1 is the name I think)

I feel you, I'm not a huge movie/TV person, so I'm a little nervous to try.

It's always tough when they go corporate.

It's all movies, the first two give you the full cast list to help ensure no one gets stumped right off the bat.

I won't lie, it's definitely for huge movie nerds. There is some strategy beyond knowing the films, you can equip a loadout with options to help you and make the opponents game tougher, and people like to find little traps to lead you down.

babygirl1 was me.

Edit: why the fuck do those emotes you make using only keys from your keyboard default to emojis in here?

I only played like 2 short rounds but that shit was hard, in the first one what i got was some weird British movie from 2021 and the other one was some other movie that had Scarlett Johanson or whatever the fuck her name is and the frustration of not being able to think of 1 movie she was in made me quit. So only play it if you are Movie trivia guru.

I'd still be clueless lmao
