Not too long ago, a teaser was released to fund a Indie short, this could be a "Knife found in kitchen" new, but trust me, it was just the starting piece of a domino effect of hype-nuking
To summarize since i couldn't find the teaser (Suspicious...) basically the pilot included a jab at Gameoverse, by this point a pilot that made itself a place in many hearts, obviously with detractors but still it was recieved warmly, so how they "FRIENDLY" jabbed the pilot in their own teaser?
Have the main characters of Chimptopia beat the (spit) of one of the characters
No, that's all, no punchline, no actual critic to the plot's flaws (As someone that liked Gameoverse, i can tell it has some) not even some joke beside "Hey, look at that guy of another show, let's kill him" and nothign else, and a simple quip that you won't like the show anyway, they even picked Goobles to unflately spoof only because he looks dumb and that's funny, they do mention Gameoverse's plot, but do so in a superficial way and also makes fun of *Drum Roll* a game themed show making game references, the pilot doesn't even make that many, it just about the concept of Videogames
I didn't learn of the issue until it showed up in my recs randomly, at first i expected people to simply be mad for mocking Gameoverse, ESPECIALLY since they did so beating one of the most loved characters by proxy, but once i checked to see what was the whole deal, i dropped inside a Rabbit Hole that made me question many things... not really but the stuff i found were real XD
For starters, when i FINALLY found what the plot was, it was... just another "Roommates do crazy shit, in this case to keep their landlord from evicting them", given the designs screamed "Adult cartoon of Comedy Central that barely lasted a season" i found ironic they basically told in the teaser that their show is so unique and special
Second, the show will be crowdfunded, i mean it isn't so bad, many indies with no access to sponsors tend to do 500K FOR FOUR EPISODES!? THE DAMN THING WILL LOOK LIKE TANJIRO VS RUI OR WHAT THE HECK? worst is that one of the tiers is episode 3... and a musical sequence for episode 3
He tried to do some damage control making an apology where Gooblesn't lashes the leads, but it felt so devoid of honesty and backhanded that nobody took the bite
You were aware of this?
