Capcom Initially Against GOG Bringing Original Resident Evil Trilogy Back to PC

That is not how business works.

Making and publishing software for any platform has a cost, and they calculate the risk involved. Capcom more than anybody in Japan has engaged with PC and actually made it their lead platform. Monster Hunter saved them. They want to push out new content, even if remakes, to fill their schedule and have strong revenue each year.

PC community toxicity is just nonsense pulled out of your ass, making developers into drama queens in some soap opera in your head here.

Oh you are in a contrarian mood today huh? lol

Yes, because this is how business work it's why they go for remasters and remakes instead of just re-release of an old game as it is. If you have a problem with this fact then you should take out your head from the sand lol. And what you said is not even related to what I said and partly you are on the same page with me. Yes it has a cost and that's why it doesn't make sense for them to just re-release games without updates and that's why it's either a remaster or remake and that is why Crapcom wouldn't think the GOG way would matter for significant sells. Are you aware what kind of topic you are in and why I wrote the stuff I wrote to reply the person according to what they wrote? lol. Did I say PC market is what Capcom ignores or they believe PC market is bad for sell or some shit?: I didn't so what the fuck you believing you're replying to? Did you quote the wrong person? lol

As for toxic PC community, then it means you know shit about it and you don't read Steam reviews when an old game being released without satisfactory 4K resolution and they didn't update the game engine to support more than 30 FPS. Being ignorant is okay but bullshitting in your way as if world is how as far as you know making me fart laughing my ass off. I just didn't really make it Shakespearean tragedy here dude, this is how PC community is and this is how business done for them, and this is related to how gamer community is so because it doesn't satisfy their PC Master Race standards they go buy Switch and its games and play on emulator for the sake of more resolution and more FPS and this is the mentality original console haters plays on to glorify emulation and they cannot make sense why a person would play on CRT TV + original console when CRT filter and emulator is "better" to them. Because this is how usual gamer profile is they also ignore any game for sucks graphics and that's why they ignore old games and they go for good looking games and that's why they prefer remasters and remakes and this is what video game industry as a business plays on for safe bet because as you said it costs yo lol.

In the end you clearly have no idea enough to talk about these subjects and this place is not a public restroom for your brain fart comments. Disagreeing is something but being contrarian like this just make you a clown dude get your shit together lolol.

This is the same mindset from a PlayStation exec who questioned why anyone would want to play old PlayStation 1 and 2 games.

This is proof how stupid and out of touch those companies are now
They don't even understand why people like those games, games that made this company what it is today

Reminds me that uncharted situation when Sony ported uncharted 4 to pc but not 1, 2 and 3 because those are old games and MUH GRAPHICS is not on par or whatever
Or when Jim Ryan or some other sony boss was saying gran turismo 4 just can't be better than 7, it's a ps2 game come guys ps2 game can't be better than ps5, old = bad

Remakes exist to replace original not to preserve it, and you don't hate remakes hard enough
This is disturbing news and all of you should be worry

Same shit Square Enix did with Final Fantasy's Mobile ports being delisted to make Pixel Remaster the go version

I think that even at Capcom, objectively speaking, they know that the original trilogy is better than the remakes. It's a deliberate move to make them inaccessible in order to boost sales figures for the remakes. It's a technique that is also used by Sega, as we saw with Jet Set Radio.

A fine example of an uninspired era in video gaming, churning out the same old games but with a few tweaks.

There were rumors that Sega delisted a bunch of stuff because they were trying to launch their own steam-like platform for their games. Not sure how much weight such thing carries though

Most likely false information spread by Sega fans who still haven't gotten over the end of the hardware and are imagining a possibility of competing in software distribution, but that's impossible when Steam has a monopoly.

If the list of assured things in life were ever to exceed "Death." and "Taxes.", I think somewhere in the top 5 on the list there would be mention of delusional Sega fans, ready to scream "Dreamcast 2!" at random strangers.

Hasn't stopped EA and Ubisoft from doing their own, with equally terrible results :P

Still surprised that EA actually brought over the Sims and Command & Conquer to Steam

OH IT'S REAL AND YOU'LL BELIEVE IN SEGA AGAIN WHEN IT HAPPENS1!!!!!11

What baffles me is that Sega has been out of the hardware game for two decades these people somehow think that they'd be willing to get back into it. Unless they take the XBOX route and go all in on a handheld gaming system that's already being manufactured by someone else, I don't see it happening
