No way.
Even so, 3DS is very good at emulating other systems.

You speak as if random people usually port games -- they don't. Even translation projects in popularity is relatively a new thing. As I see everyone saying porting and emulating is different, then has anyone ported Monster Hunter into the 3ds? Because that's really the only game I want to play from the ps2.
you can play PS2 on your phone with Aethersx2 if you want.As I see everyone saying porting and emulating is different, then has anyone ported Monster Hunter into the 3ds? Because that's really the only game I want to play from the ps2.
Nah, to emulate PS2 you don't need a high end PC, I have only a Ryzen 3200g CPU and I can play fine even doing 3x the resolution.Obviously, it's impossible a 3DS isn't powerful enough to emulate a PS2.
For reference, a 3DS is a bit less powerful than a GameCube, so trying to emulate a PS2 on it is basically a recipe for failure.
Even on a PC, you need a high-end gaming machine just to emulate a PS2, so on a 3DS.
I see, my bad. Nah, I really was just wondering if that's a possibility, it's not really the end of the world if I can't play MH on the 3ds, I can just play it on the PC, I was just asking to see if it can be played on the 3ds.You speak as if random people usually port games -- they don't. On paper porting games is possible with significant downgrade and at times cut contents and change in gameplay style too. My greatest example I can give for faithful port of a PS2 game to NDS is Flower, Sun and Rain. When you write the whole engine for the target platform and reduce quality of assets porting gets possible but it's not something random people can do or would do.
However I have no idea why you are laser focused on this PS2 Monster Hunter game when there are tons of Monster Hunter games on 3DS:
- Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
- Monster Hunter 3G
- Monster Hunter 4
- Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
- Monster Hunter Generations
- Monster Hunter Stories
- Monster Hunter XX: Double Cross
I honestly don't know about Monster Hunter games in detail for I don't play them but this is all I could find on a random rom website, perhaps it has way more than these or something. I get you may wanna start from 1st game but IDK if this series even has a story to begin with or all games are connected in story to make story progression a significant part of the series or something. IDK dude you may always play tons of other Monster Hunter games released for 3DS lol.
