Been wanting one of these for a few years now so decided to order one. Looking forward to seeing how it is. Anyone got any experience with these?

I used Bliss-Box, for all retro USB controllers. One adapter for all controllers.

I do this weirdest way; I have a SNES Classic Mini controller and a 8bitdo adapter mini-sausage that has port for GameCube and WiiMote Plug controllers. It supports both Xinput and Switch over bluetooth and makes both GC pads more easily usable on PC (my preferred way to play PSOBB) and the SNES Mini pad on Switch, which is along with my PC my main ways to play emulated retro stuff on my TV and sound blasters.

My friend did have, if not still has one of those buffalos. Aside it not being as rounded and maybe slightly thicker in parts that matter it is very much a ok pad. Weirdest thing my friend did was macro stuff for PC games to it so he does not need to hold down M1 or such stuff in survival games, but I am sure he has enjoyed more than enough DKC with it.

I want a GameCube controller too (Well two as I like to have at least two of each controller) and don't know whether to use a genuine one with an adapter or try and find a decent USB one which I can see being difficult.

Yeah. The product I referenced to is 8BitDo "Gbros" adapter that is a small purple sausage that bluetooth or even wired connects one GameCube or one classic controller (NES mini and SNES mini ones also, or if you are lucky, the Japanese club nintendo SNES Classic Controller for Wii) and is easiest way to get native switch compatible of Xinput bluetooth communication, likely only wireless option since I recall that 3rd party Wii U smash bros adapters exist with Xinput or other "PC mode" in them. Though, not compatible with Wii Plug classic controllers.

It only supports one controller, if you plug something to both plugs as I did the other gets eliminated, if I recall GameCube plug overrides the wiimote plug or some such. But still, with this adapter I have for my Switch RetroArch setup almost all controllers I want. Too bad SNES classic pads are not really available. But I would recommend if you have extra money and will to check up generally on 8bitdo products since they are not expensive, though cost more than cheaper competition, but their quality and attention to detail is generally pretty great. My favorite line of products from them are the conversion kits that make actual retro controllers into bluetooth wireless ones that are multiplatform, between phones, PC and Switch. Namely their non-pro SN30 if you want it to be as retro as possible, pro if extra set of shoulder buttons and analog sticks are in your mind.

Still, I have held the buffalo and test spun it around. While it is quite clear it is not an original, it is noticably thicker if I recall correctly and is slightly sharper in it's corners, and the wedge shape is slightly more pronounced even if it there on real and reheated official SNES controllers, it is for something made by a damn external hard drive company, for cheap a very good SNES pad, which also is just very good general retro pad. I just invested into having wider array of retro or retro style controllers, even arcade sticks (in plural) so I can get more lost into this sauce than most people should.

I used to get USB ones but found them not to be as good as OEM, that why I did the adapter. I also got sick of buying adapters for each, like you I had to have multiple (4 in my case) of each... got expensive fast, but not with this adapter.
