Bought a Neo Geo Pocket Color - now what ?

Hi,

I just ordered a NG Pocket Color, I searched somewhat on the net but I wanted to ask : What are your experiences with it e.g. jailbreaking ?

Then, I can get some games from eBay, which titles are good ? I want to buy Dark Arms as it's an Action-RPG, I'm more into the D&D side of games.

Then, are there any known disk systems for it, meaning burnable cartridges or an SD-like system ?

Cardfighter's Clash is a really great card game
There's a pretty solid Sonic game
The port of Neo Turf Masters is incredibly faithful, just shrunken down

Never tried any of the SD card stuff or whatever, I just have a regular old NGPC with a handful of titles. I hear Faselei! is supposed to be good, but the english release was pricey years ago, I have to imagine it's way pricey now.

There are also games with Dreamcast connectivity for specific games and if you have the proper cable, but I'm not sure about what content is unlocked or whatever.

Faselei! is the NGPC's gem IMO. I just played it recently. It's a different type of SRPG where you only control one mecha and you input a series of actions at a time so it moves a lot faster, it's a lot of fun. Even the story is decent.

I've always heard that the Sonic game for the platform is well regarded, it's arguably one of the best known 3rd party games.

There are burnable carts and screen replacements.

I got the Neo Geo Pocket (non-color) and there's a screen replacement for that too.

Sonic, Klonoa, Metal Slug and the golf game are my favorite games on the system.

That's exactly what I needed for flashing. I'll look up Klonoa, is the Sonic game SEGA MS based or Sega MD ? I have the MD version already.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. The Sonic game visually looks like the Master System games, but has some levels based off of the Mega Drive ones.

To clarify, Sonic on the Neo Geo Pocket Color is a new game, not a port, however it's kind of a remix of Sonic 2, in that it uses the same level themes but with new layouts.
