BOOM Paprium's rom has arrive

Without a doubt one of the Beat em' up games that better squeezes the most out of the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and also that looks like a Neo-Geo game than a Mega Drive/Genesis game and that is reflected in the scenarios and sprites that are quite detailed and also takes full advantage of the color palette of the console taking into account that you can only use 61 or 64 simultaneous colors of the 512 colors available.

My friend has several copies, at least 4...

About 5 years ago, a seller from Hong Kong who sold EverDrive mods sold them. These game cartridges being sold in a Chinese secondhand retro facebook group.

At that time, each copy of Paprium was sold for 1500 HKD (around 200 USD). Later, the price increased to 2500 HKD (around 300 USD), and eventually, they were sold out at around 3000 HKD.

Back then, I went to my friend’s house to play the game. I usually got to the forth/fifth level. (The first part has a level with an elevator, which is from the third/fourth version. Then comes the next version.) During that time, I gradually discovered the hidden passages in the game.

Back then, the Korean company hadn't released any news about cartidge issue at that moment. My friend told me that a lot of Kickstarter still haven't received this game. My friend was also curious why this Chinese person had so many copy to sell.

All the cartridges were sold, and the money was taken. This is the reality.

The people who never got their copies or their money back can finally rejoice

I feel like it should be mentioned, but newer games should NOT be uploaded here. Need to respect and support the team, and BUY the game. This way we can see more great games being made.
Paprium is unique in that the game is infamous for most people who tried to buy it never actually getting it. This even includes YouTubers. Unlike Pier Solar, they didn’t even drop Paprium on Steam.

This seems like a uncommon but still ever present issue with crowd backed games. There was that ancient drama with those dudes that wanted to officially release Cheetahmen II, and there was that Yogscast thing.

I'm getting burned by the damn Ready or Not devs right now because they recently censored the game for a console release even though the main draw of the game was to stay as realistic and gritty as possible, they turned down like 3 publishers to keep it intact. I didn't even pay into their Kickstarter or whatever it was, I just bought the game like 6 months ago, not to mention their updates are always trash. Never again. This is the side of Indie development people don't like to acknowledge. But we've gotten some cool stuff as of late so it balances out.

After reading through the article Spike posted, it seems this asshole, that unfortunately used the same name as the Fonz(From Happy Days), initially ripped people off for nearly 1 million USD, and then, ripped them off for another additional 1 million USD with another game. Dude's in hiding now, but it seems people were able to track him down, but whether justice will be served or not, is another matter. This dude ruined his own life and career just for 2 million, when if he did everything the right way and ran his business right, he could have easily made more money for years to come. But then again, criminals are retards and don't have long term planning.

I have a stack of UBISOFT pc games...and I still curse them to this day. Even after reading that page, i would double down with adding don't do it to spite that ##### excuse for a human being.
What's the cutoff point then? What's the grace period before it's morally correct to pirate games???
40 years after the creators death, This is when the copyright becomes public domain....usually but some estates have been know to push it up to 90 years.

Well to be fair, alot of the backers/supporters already consider him dead in their minds. What can he do? Take ppl to court, and once it gets to discovery, he'd have to reveal he screwed people out of a million? Lol. Dude I hope he tries to take it to court.

I try to be, but it would be "BONKERS" to recommend anyone to pirate a Ubisoft pc game. Even the real games is so broken that they are unplayable even with the patches.

YES. The answer is still yes.

The comment ask morally....this world doesn't value morals TBH and I don't blame it.

That actually does sound kinda funny. They roll up trying to sue the people making roms, reveal that the piracy was a direct result of what was essentially fraud/money laundering, and then backers countersue
