Bookmarking of users without "Following" them

Could be nice to have an option to bookmark users to remember them only (without bookmarking Profile pages on the browser), I don't like to announce that I'm following someone nor I really use the feed option.

The idea isn't to hide me, but to not annoy anyone or seeing what does not interest me.
Just remember people on this vast site.

It would be really useful for everyone if bookmarking of users unrelated to following was added to the site.
If it's too much trouble, not the scope, or impossible to do it, I'll understand.
Just thinking.

Well, the follow feature is universally under-used and under-discussed, there hasn’t been real discussion about its specifics.

It's because I care about things, and I don't want to cross anyone that for some reason could not like something or take something the wrong way.
Or if I like some things that one shares but I specifically don't like other things but I appreciate them nonetheless.

I mean… I really don’t quite see how something as minute as this could cause a stir. Seems like missing the forest for the tree imo. If someone would truly have an issue with it, it sounds like a them-problem, rather than something that would need bigger addressing.

It was suggested before that you could bookmark specific messages in a thread. Although I’m still not quite sure what request is being suggested here and what could be done to satisfy it, if it could be fulfilled at all.

It's possible to see each user's profile posts separately.
To do so, you can open the profile page of that user, and click on "Postings" tab.

Also, if you want to see posts of multiple users at the same time, you can do so with Advanced Search, and in the "Posted by" part, you can write the name of members you are interested, and don't forget to select "By date" as order.
However, you should go all the way again every time you want to refresh it.

I see, the point of secreto's request is just to avoid seeing everything a profile shares bc some stuff could be an annoyance... dunno if filters are available in the forum, maybe this could also help. But then again, I tend to think more like Youseff. Don't miss the forest for a tree.

It's not exactly for me since I could skip things I don't want to see.

I just try to be careful or thought about others.

I might be wrong, but if i understand correctly, your goal is to follow users to use the Your news feed feature, but you don't want them to know that you are following them, to prevent any potential discomfort for them... is that so?

No, I don't use the feed.
Just a way to remember people without linking them.

Most users here, actually none I have ever followed, seen, or such seem to be bothered by being followed. Rather, they seem to enjoy it. It seems like a silly idea honestly. If you want, make a folder in your browser's bookmark tab, name it "RGT Users," go to their profile, and just bookmark that page.

Rename each bookmark to "User Name" and there you have it.

And even then, there's no guarantee that it'd actually work. A lot of development for this platform seems beyond broken out-of-the-box and requires almost manic follow-through until everything clicks the way it should.

It's exhausting.
