I've been at it for a while now, trying to tackle my seemingly infinitely growing TBR, and was wondering what your two cents on this topic are.

I've been using Storygraph for a while, pretty happy with it, though presumably goodreads is the most popular one (and owned by amazon 😩). As much as I hate amazon, I can't deny that goodreads is probably your best option when it comes to checking out reviews, at least for the time being.

What are some sites or methods you use for keeping a track of your library?

I've been using Goodreads since 2015 and as much as i hate it, its probably the best book-centered social media and tracking site. I look for reviews, write some myself, log my books and tag them accordingly and see what my friends are reading. It may be owned by amazon but i never saw anything intrusive from amazon, they probably dont even pay the staff that much honestly, considering that the mobile app is trash and doesnt work correctly half the time.

I use StoryGraph this is a popular alternative to Goodreads and is known for its minimalist design and data-driven approach.

i used to use hardcover, not bad

I use the same method for cataloguing all my reading, from manga, and lightnovels, to philosophical and "regular" literature.

.ods files, curated by myself.

It took me ~a day and half to export all my data from goodreads to storygraph (dealing with missing covers), but it's finally done it seems. Other than this, I inconsistently post what I managed to achieve (either read, played, watched, etc) on my blog. I don't take any of this seriously, tho... As long as I'm reading, any other ritual is secondary :loldog

I use a tracker for games (mygamecollection by tuyware and it is pretty good) but not books or movies. My books are physical, so they are there to see, and I know which one I have read or not. I used to be on goodreads as a teenager, but I gave up on these "social-mediafication" of some tracking apps like letterboxd and goodreads, once the toxicity started to seep in.
I do have a physical diary where i have noted down every book and movie I wish to read or see in the future, and I cross them off if I do.

Dunno why, but my inner self told me to make a soyjack-chad meme out of this (I apologize in advance XD)

"social-mediafication"
Goodreads' social aspect is pretty cool imo, I use it to see what my friends are reading and want to read, and if there's cool stuff that catches my eye in there I add to my lists as well.

That's funny, cos I used to keep physical diaries to track activities when I was a teenager (all still conserved, btw)... Cool, nonetheless.

I actually never used goodreads for its social side, I was more interested in finding stuff through their database (not the sole method I use to pick my readings, ofc). Same goes for storygraph now.
