I really want to get one of these handhelds, my problem is that I can't seem to find any info on the wear-and-tear. I don't want to spend 60 bucks if it'll get stick drift after a few months.

Does anyone have one of these? Or, do you know what handheld is the best?

ComIf you just want to play retro games or download some PC ports

Watch this video, it was way BETTER recommendations than I could write down here. Long story short, I bought an Anbernic RG35XX H device, and any other handheld of that same line is pretty good too. There are many good and cheap options in this market, and since I have never even heard about this one you posted about, I'm going out on a limb and say it is not a good one.

Miyoo mini + is good, it's what I have but I'd rather a horizontal form factor.

I keep seeing extremely corny ads for this thing on Youtube. I even saw a few vendors selling it at the convention I was at last month.
Probably just more cheap Chinese garbage like the rest of these devices that come pre installed with like 20,000 illegally obtained games. I'm surprised they always seem to get away with selling it.

I'm waiting for my RG cube xx to arrive, if it's any good I'll let you know, it's got a square screen, which is great for Gameboy, Gamegear, Snes and pcengine (at 8:7) and vertical arcade games.

If we getting picky about aspect ratios, Gameboy & Gamegear are more like 9:10.
8:7 is incorrect for all console games, it comes from old emulators incorrectly rendering square pixels.
That aside Anbernic is probably the best brand of these type of handhelds you can get. Most people I've talked to have been happy enough with them.

I'm not in these circles, but $60 for something like that screams "buy cheap, buy twice" to me.

8:7 is the real aspect ratio of SNES and most PC engine games, the thing is, old CRTs couldn't keep that aspect ratio and had to stretch the screen to fit a 4:3 display, you'd thing nintendo would account for this quirk of their hardware and make their games with thinner sprites, but no!, most snes games developed by nintendo look wide on 4:3, by contrast, other developers did account for this quirk and made the sprites internally thinner.
I think it's a matter of taste if you prefer 4:3 or 8:7, I prefer 8:7 so the square screen is perfect for me, my only regret is sega genesis and PS1 games, I'll get less screen real-state with those platforms ^^,

This is just splitting hairs, but I'd rather call it the "internal" rather than the "real" aspect ratio. Whether the devs took into account the stretch or not, it was still the original way these games where presented. I'm more of a purist so I always stick to 4:3. It is a preference thing though, in the modern age you can play your games in whatever aspect ratio you'd like. The difference between 4:3 and 8:7 won't be super noticeable on a small screen anyway.

powkiddy x55 with a custom card in it. If your going for something of that line. can handle dreamcast.
