Blocking

I know ignoring exists, but can we somehow integrate a block function that goes both ways? If you ignore someone, they don't even know that they're ignored. They can even interact with your posts, like thumb them up.

I don't want someone who I dislike interacting with any of my posts in any way, even viewing them. Is that possible to integrate into the site?

No. It's not social media. You just have to live with somebody you dislike being able to interact with your posts.

We HAVE that feature, but it's not available for users.

XenForo won't allow regular users to have that on their platform, and I can see exactly why.

As someone who's a regular of a place that has such a system in action, it's a poorly executed idea that ultimately results in echo chambers being made, and therefore makes themselves harder to report in case they start doing ToS-breaking stuff. There are people who block literally everybody with even the slightest nuance against their beliefs (Yousef actually told a story of one dingus abusing a similar system, where the dood blocked everybody who didn't believe M-rated games should be banned entirely).

I can see why XenForo doesn't want to implement such a system to regular users. If it's garbage, you're not required to respond to it. If it's a special type of garbage, Report exists for a reason.

Me too. Being able to ignore people and block them like that can lead to what Reddit is, a website with many stupid people that say stupid things and don't allow you to complain when they answer you with something that disapproves your comment.

If you don't want to deal with comments or answers that you don't like or feel comfortable with, then you have to get over it, sorry for being this direct :(

Well the upside is, at least you don't see the asshole in question. That is better than nothing.
And look at it from the other side, if they start spouting off BS toward you, thinking it's funny because you can't see it, someone will. And will report them So hey, win-win, I guess

And the last thing anyone wants is another Reddit. We (well, I wasn't here, but you know) already saw what a bit of disagreement over something so silly can lead to. I'm not saying the subject is silly, just arguing like children over it is. We don't need groups of people like that making a club, you know.
