Another great band. Its style a tribute to dissection.

Revisiting this absolute gem of an album, one of the pinnacles of DSBM. That guitar fuzzy tone is simply impressive, so warm and cold at the same time

i cant listen to any of this music cause it makes me want to scream in agony (i think thats the point though), but i defo appreciate the value.

i heard there was a song where the vocalist had himself buried alive in a casket with a microphone to record his screams of fear due to his claustrophobia. i think i heard snippets of it, those screams were genuine as hell

Sounds like a bunch of rumors concerning several people combined into one, though I could be wrong. Dead (what a telling nom de plume) was obsessed with death. Dude had a thing for hoarding dead birds and burying his clothes to 'give them that grave scent'. He also loved cutting himself on stage to the point at least several shows had to be stopped just so his bandmates could call an ambulance and bring him back from the brink. It may or may not be surprising that the guy blew his head off with a shotgun at the hearty age of 22. He was weird even by black metal standards and that's according to the people who knew him and played music with him.

As far as screams go, Abruptum were rumored to have cut themselves prior to recording sessions but iirc nothing was proven.

And there is Nattramn, a real basket case who was allegedly institutionalized after trying to kill a child with an axe or something along those lines.

Black metal is one of those few genres where at least some of the appeal comes from aspects not related to music itself and it can foster some unhinged individuals. You don't really see this in other subgenres of metal, certainly not to the same extent. One could say it's unique for what it's worth.

Like everything, it's a matter of taste. I really enjoy black metal, but it's not for everyone. As for all those stories related to black metal, some are true, but honestly, most are just a play or an artistic expression.

The logo is way too legible for this to be a trve grim nekro frostbitten black metal project. Can't rag on the cover art too hard though. I dunno what it is but while it's pretty cringe it has that certain charm to it that kinda saves it from being absolutely abysmal.

If you want to see something truly bad look up Enochian - Night Monumental Evil. Can't post it here because it has titties but I assure you you won't regret it.
