Seeing all of these studios get shut down, re-situated, etc, what would you say is something that really crushed you to see happen in the industry. It could be anything, a shut down studio, a rejected concept, anything of the sort.

These two are my picks. Really hurts to see it.

In the case of this Twinsanity art. It was sent to Vicarious Visions shortly after the launch of N.Sane Trilogy, and Traveller's Tales got everyone who worked on Twinsanity to agree to help if Activision said something to them, and they never got a response. It was wasted on them. Twinsanity is one of those games that has so much content that had to be cut in order for it to release, and I think the passion that TT has for their games, and with how the industry is now, Twinsanity could work. But you know.

The fact that LucasArts, Westwood and Maxis closed was a such a gut punch. And it all happened as I was really starting to embrace the games I could never buy as a kid and had tried out as rentals.

That was half my childhood burned down right then and there (the other half was Cartoon Network closing).

Yeah, LucasArts especially. I wish those old Star Wars projects didn't get cancelled. KOTOR3 would've been stellar.

Not something Specific, but the Death of Double A Studios Overall. Its just that theres a void now. that the kind of games like the old star wars games wouldnt get made any more. Im gonna use those as an example because thats the best I can think of. Just those Medium budget games that are made out of an artistic desire, granted indie games are great and all, but they are just different from that in a way I cant describe.

mmm, for me, probably Megaman Legends 3. When you read about all the stuff that was happening internally, it's pretty understandable why MML3 never came out. But! It sticks in my heart because there was a lot of that world left to explore and the story just felt... unfinished. Also cause I miss Ms. Bonne.

Yeah, I was just talking with some friends about this. I feel like one of the things that kinda dulls modern gaming is that we aren't getting a lot of side projects or double a projects. Stuff like how Rockstar used to be where they would constantly take risks. Or stuff that would eventually get bigger like how Killzone on the PS3 was. Seems like that died after Shadow Fall.

Maximo 3 cancellation because to Capcom's awful managment(this confirmed by David Siller and Scott Rogers) and forced the team to make that godawful piece of shit named Final Fight Streetwise

as well... Clover Studio getting shut down by Inafune's orders...
Yeah, that's a rough one. Capcom has had a lot of blunders like that.

God, MML3 still hurts me. I think I remember seeing a bit of Scalebound but don't remember what it was about.
It was a game directed by Hideki Kamiya that was going to be released exclusively for the Xbox One, and it was going to be an Action RPG, the protagonist had a dragon companion, the game looked really cool.

Honestly, I think if they keep going with the remaster collections, the Legends series would be quite popular today. Maybe. We shall see if they do anymore, idk if they will. I was surprised they did Mega Man Battle Network.

Stickied cuz cool topic from a cool regular :)
Alice madness returns devs? I loved that game ;(
Yet ANOTHER chance to gush about Twinsanity. Man, that game was all kinds of goated for me. Extremely pleasant game from start to finish. Activ. should stop being micro transactions hungry cowards and release the Twinsanity remake. The devs wanna work on it, the fans want it, it’s got a good enough cult following which is basically enough for every game and their mom to get a remake now. Would be great with the missing content too. I heard that devs wanna add it back. It’s a shame that some development was harmed because the devs accidentally made a ratchet clone halfway through, I would’ve loved that darker crash too x(

I can live a world without Megaman X9 and ZXC(to be honest, I'm not fan of ZX series that even I prefer consider ZX as a non-canon sequel to Zero) but Legends 3... agh... it hurts...
I just wanna see Miss Bonne and Roll Caskett again, I just want my girlies back 😔

I like the Mega Man ZX series, but I respect your opinion.

Sega's exit out of the console market. Terrible business decisions brought it upon them, however the Dreamcast, Saturn and Genesis are filled to the brim with stellar games, many of which being overlooked by the gaming public at large even in the current day.

Alice Asylum was the planned final installment in the Alice trilogy. American McGee spent 8 years getting the money and creating a design bible to pitch to EA, and they told him "Alice is an important IP in our portfolio but we aren't planning on utilizing it at this time" and rejected him immediately. He retired soon after and said he'd never come back. You can read the Design Bible online, the story was amazing.

Older Crash fans hate to admit, but Twinsanity really modernized Crash in a cool way, and it has influenced the tone of each sequential release. It still has DNA even in It's About Time. I think it deserves that second chance.

When they shut down the tango studio.....oh so we never gonna see another evil within,do we?
Pisses me off too, because that was their next game.

I heard about the fight between Nintendo and Sega a lot. Nintendo64 was the win for Nintendo but Sega downfall begins.
Ah just remember last saga game for Sony series shadow the hedgehog.

The Dreamcast is a big need for me lol, I really want one. It's an amazing console. It was just coming off the Saturn so I think that bad blood between Sega and consumers carried over to the Dreamcast, not to mention the consoles that were set to release. Sega didn't know they were releasing the Dreamcast in such a juggernaut era for gaming.

Tron Bonne is probably my favorite Mega Man character.

Also, didn't expect my first thread to get stickied lol. I looked through each page to make sure I didn't copy so I didn't get yelled at lol.

well, actually Saturn was a success in Japan that even outsold N64 and it's the best-selling Sega console there

in other hand... Saturn was a flop in America and Europe because to Sega of America's godawful decisions

That's what I'm referring to. Man, Sega of America really sucked back then. The Saturn had an insane lineup that never came out over here. I think it genuinely could've rivaled the PS1 if they handled it correctly.

That Symphony of the Night port man. Best way to play that game.

both Nintendo and Sega made a lot of mistakes on choosing. But only Sega disappeared, this prove mistakes can be deadly.
