You know when things look dire, then someone steps up to save the day, or arrives in just the nick of time. Sometimes it's someone you don't expect. Or how about those awesome moments when the cavalry arrives? For me these are some of the most epic and memorable moments in video games.

If you're doing a perfect, no one dies playthrough of Until Dawn, keeping Jessica alive takes the combined efforts of both Mike and Matt. If Mike is too slow in the early chase, she won't survive (although the game kind of makes you think she's dead regardless). And a cowardly choice by Matt later in the game will guarantee her death.

Final Fantasy 4 has a few of these!

Rydia returning during the first Golbez fight (IIRC). A bedridden Edward getting up to play his harp to undo a spell of the Dark Elf's design. The remaining heroes showing up to her Cecil and the others enter the Giant of Babil. Heck, those same remaining heroes praying for Cecil and gang's success before the second phase of the final battle. All pretty neat moments.

And they kicked Chuck Norris in his cowboy ass
It was the bloodiest battle that the world ever saw
With civilians looking on in total awe.
