Recently I started collecting physical games for the system and bought a good stack of about 10. Half of these where CD games, the other where hucards. Generally when I add new games to the collection I like to make sure they work before putting them on the shelf, but the problem is I don't own the CD-rom unit yet.
I've checked discs before by ripping them on my computer, but I've been having some trouble. Both Imgburn and Alcohol 120 don't seem to like them. They both either stall out on analysis or get a bunch of errors. All the discs are basically mint so that shouldn't be the issue.
Another alternative is if there was an emulator that would let me play the games straight off the disc. I've heard of this but have no idea how to set that up.

I believe you need a specific software for best results, something called TurboRip.
That makes sense. These discs are pretty old they're probably in some weird non-standard format. I'll give that a try, thanks (y)

it seems to be working. It even auto recognises what game is in the drive.

Glad to have helped!

Got all the games ripped and running on the flashcart. Will probably get a CD drive eventually for completeness sake, but this will do just fine for now.
