What mods do you recommend for a vanilla+ experience with Classic DOOM?
Preferably compatible with UZDoom
But ones compatible with Cherry Doom and Crispy Doom would be fine as well
BTW, here's my current set of mods for my default preset in DoomRunner:

My favorite mod that isn't a total conversion is Roguelike Arsenal. It offers weapon upgrades, upgrade trees, monsters with unique behaviors and more.

For vanilla, I use a mod that replaces graphics and ambient sounds with the Doom 64 equivalents. To top it off, a music mod that has the excellent PS1 music tracks.

The PSX version of Doom had such excellent atmospheric tracks that I think suit the game better than the metal soundtrack to be honest, Bobby Prince's (RIP) tracks are ICONIC don't get me wrong, but the PSX soundtrack and the soundtrack of Doom 64 make you feel like you could expire at any moment, and every encounter is a fight for your life, and I love that feeling.

I agree. I think Doom's default music style is a better fit for something like Duke 3D or Shadow Warrior, ironically.

I've seen 2 LEGO mods for DOOM though, one of them, just called LEGODOOM is the only one available right at DOOMWorld.

I haven't played it myself "properly" but as far I've seen from the mod, it has 10 original maps filled with old LEGO charm.
The author recommends that it be played on UZDOOM (which you won't have problems with that) and you need the DOOM 2 wad for it as well, but it can be playable on something like Crispy DOOM or even the original DOS versions of DOOM 1 and 2 since the author provided some files for the mod to be compatible with them.

They even provided a sprite replacement file so you can give your other wads (including DOOM 1 and 2) the classic LEGO look.
