Sold terribly, but it was a great Shin Megami Tensei spinoff.

Mashin Eiyuuden Wataru Gaiden, based in a Anime i never seen but with a story that doesn't need to do so, it's a top vew Side view hybridwith a neat story and fun gameplay, only in Japanese but it's patch is aviable

Opoona on the Wii. Easily one of the most fascinating and unique RPGs I've ever played with a great aesthetic and soundtrack to boot. There's some definite flaws here (Can be really slow at times, map design isn't the greatest especially early on, translation's a mess though thankfully there's a fan retranslation out there), but if you put up with those issues, there's a game here that you can really tell was a major passion project for the developers involved.

-Black Rock Shooter: The game (PSP), It's based on anime I have never seen, but it's a good game with unique Action-JRPG battle system.

Actually, the game is not based on the anime. The Black Rock Shooter franchise originated from illustrations of emo Hatsune Miku by Ryohei Fuke and has multiple interpretations and incarnations of the characters. The anime follows a completely different story than the game, so does the manga.

Anyway.

- Magna Carta: Tears of Blood
It is not a JRPG but a KRPG. Wouldn't recommend to anyone but the most die hard fans of the genre, as it is incredibly tedious, has some really weird gameplay mechanics and the story is garbage. That said, Hyung-tae Kim was the character/world designer and you definitely see it. The game looks gorgeous. Hyung-tae's studio Shift Up's newest game Stellar Blade was nominated during this year's Game Awards, but his older games never garnered much attention.

I liked the Magna Carta on PS2 more than latter MC too,also Arcturus i think deserves some shoutout as well.
