Sonic 3 is a decent movie compared to that Mufasa thing that came out the same time. I know there’s a lot of rooms for improvements but it’s a good movie nonetheless.

Sonic 3 is my favourite, anyway. I like the Paramount film series they've got going on and I'm looking forward to 4.
Although, Jim Carrey is a little more difficult for me to tolerate on each re-watch. He has some really good scenes, but that style of humour can be a little grating to me these days.

I never saw the Sonic OVA from '96 but I did get to see the Paramount's Sonic Trilogy of live action but the best one is the 3 (2024) because at least it tried to be based on the events of Sonic Adventure 2 (2001) at least.

My problem with Sonic Paramount movies is that I rather focus on Sonics Characters than Human Characters because they are less Interested, but I give good performance of Jim Carrey being Doctor Robotnik.

Yeah, I can agree with that. Although, I do really like James Marsden's character as well

I second all the critics over the humans being over-focused on the Paramount movies, but aside of that they do a lot wih what they have, 3 Specially feels like the last laugh before everything goes dark

Honestly, I kinda wish it was just Sonic and the original crew. Maybe a few humans, but only ones like Dr. Robotnik who make sense in that universe.

I wished it too, sadly that would mean more work and money than just setting it in the "Real" world

I'd say most of the casting is pretty spot-on, especially the voice cast for the CG characters

For the three movie live action trilogy it's objectively the third one. The second one was dragged down by that whole secret agent romance sub plot which was just cringeworthy.

It's nice that we got all the main players onscreen with Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, and Amy.

Getting a redemption arc for Robotnik was really interesting too.

As for the human characters, I think Tom is great and his relationship with Sonic gives the movies heart. Crazy Carl is also awesome. All of the other human characters including Tom's wife and sister in law are pretty much a waste of screen time.

I haven't seen the OVA and don't even know anything about it.
