Hi, so I'm a huge fan of hack and slash games , I'm playing Bayonetta 1 right now on my pc and I'm loving it. so i wanted some hack and slash games for ps2, i played dmc series, god of war 1, some other games on the pc which i don't remember, i know some stuff on the system but i still want recommendations of the best in the genre and the system, the games you think is or are the best.
Thanks.
its not that in depth but there is a few mechanics that take a little skill to execute like deflecting or dodging bullets. there's also multiple swords you can unlock with different move sets and other abilities. there's some rpg mechanics. i would put most of you points from leveling into def.
the game is kinda short if you just want to complete the normal difficulty mode, but there's extra missions as well as a hard mode and a survival mode if you really enjoyed the game and wanted more.
some of the boss fights are kind of annoying, but they're not impossible either.
This was my favorite one that I played. There are better ones sure, though this was the one I played the most while the PS2 was still somewhat new. I never got to play DMC and all of the other now popular and classic games at the time. I am lucky to have played X and X-2 back then.
I have not played many hack and slash on PS2
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 1 and 2
Drakan The Ancients' Gates "im a bit biased because I like it allot.
Im not a super fan of the series as they become rather samey but Dynasty Warriors 4 Xtreme Legends is fun.
Zone of Ender´s is rather fun.
I heard that this one is pretty good despite being a licensed game, but hey, these kinds of games did start to have some much-needed quality during the late 90s and 2000s, and GH is one of them.
you prob never heard of this one, Sword of etheria
very flash and honestly sucks IT WAS NOT RELEASED OUTSIDE EUROPE OR JAPAN
never did find out why, konami definitely had no issues on north american releases.
(Over zenith in japan, aka OZ, as in wizard of OZ, you'll understand when you see at 10:10 in video)
I was about to say this, but you beat me to it haha.
Nanobreaker is a lesser known one. Honestly, not great, but a decent little specatacle, especially because you can change the color of the blood to make it like.. a florescent rainbow.. so you paint the walls in your art.
Dragengard 1 and 2 are... quite tedious sort of watered down Musou games with a very unique and interesting story (at least the first one). They have the fun gimmick that when on certain maps you can hop on a dragon at any time and burn the hell out of entire armies.
i would have but he asked for "hack and slash" specifically. god hand is more of a beat 'em up.
despite that, i highly recommend that game too. it's a very hard, but very fair game. there's a technique called "yes man kablaam" that you can pick up during the 2nd boss fight. this move really breaks the difficulty of the game, so i recommend that you avoid using it. that is unless you're really frustrated and struggling with a particular part of the game.
i wish more people had purchased "God Hand" but instead they listen to the trash that ign vomits out - according to them - one of the greatest ps2 games ever is worth a 3/10

oh my god, i saw a post on instagram a time , it was talking a bout a gory ps2 hack and slash game it didn't really showed any name i think, i took a screenshot of a part thinking i got the name but i was wrong, nanobreaker was the game thank you so much i really wanted to know the name.

i try not to listen to reviews at all, cause nearly all the reviews are that person's opinion, so if i see a game and it looks cool to me that's really enough, i will definitely give it a try even if it is the worst rated game to others.

Well, for the record, the PSP versions of Warriors Orochi run at 30 fps while the PS2 versions run at 60 beautiful fps.
Also, draw distance is much better on PS2 (probably the worst issue on PSP), and there are a lot more voices and "stuff" in the battlefield
As you said you already played DMC and God of war 1 (I assume you'll play God of war 2 too) I recommend you
Bujigai the forsaken city
Blood will tell
Genji down of the samurai
Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge
Sword of etheria
Demon chaos
Shinobi
Nano breaker
Star wars, the force unleashed
Ghost Rider
X men origins wolverine
I have no idea why, some users recommend you Mortal Kombat Shaolin monks and God hand. They're brawlers... Excellent brawlers that you should play, but brawlers at the end.

Thank you so much, x men origins has two versions right? Ps2 and ps3 and pc and other.
Are they that different? Something like maybe splinter cell double agent which is different on ps 2 and og xbox . The same story as ps 3 , xbox 360, but different experience.
And thanks for the other games i'll check those out.

Exactly, PS2, PSP and PS3 versions are different games despite they all share same title. The PS3/Xbox 360 version is the best, but if you only want PS2 games, it worth it.
