For me, I'll have to go with The Adventures of Batman and Robin on SNES. Other ones I found at least decent are Batman Vengeance and Justice League Heroes (which had the misfortune of coming out the same year ad the far superior Marvel: Ultimate Alliance).

Batman on NES
Batman on Game Boy
That one Batman on Commodore 64 where the panels overlapped like it was a comic you could play

Genesis version of Batman & Robin is also very good, though very difficult.
Most of the Sunsoft batman games are great.
Genesis Superman has a fantastic soundtrack and is Sunsoft developed too.
Konami also has a few good Batman games, animated series on GB, Returns on NES and SNES.
Death and Return of Superman is a great beat em up by Blizzard.
Some consider the Batman Begins game to be a precursor to the Arkham games, though I personally haven't played it myself.

I'm backing up the people who have been saying Batman Begins, that game was actually pretty good for what it was. I played I think the GameCube version quite a bit when it first came out.

I really like Rise of Sin Tzu, it was a 3D beat 'em up based on the Animated Series. It's pretty simple, but it had some serious soul in it if you're into that specific brand of repetitive 3D brawlers.

I remember playing Justice League: Chronicles on the GBA a good amount when I was a young lad and remember it being pretty good, but no idea if it still holds up now.

I wasn't impressed by Batman Begins. The graphics looked great (aside from some of Batman's more awkward animation) and it's cool they got the movie's cast to reprise their roles, but it plays like a heavily scripted, watered down Splinter Cell.

I also found Sin Tzu to be a pretty average beat 'em up. Personally prefer Vengeance.

I've heard pretty mixed things about Death and Return of Superman. I've played Superman Shadow of Apokolips, which is ok. I do also like the Lego Batman games (especially 2).

Superman 64

JK, but there is a good Superman game, the Arcade Taito game is pretty good, alas you may need to pop open some MAME unless you get liucky to get a machine nearby

Shadow of Apokolips on PS2/gamecube is ok.

I was gonna say that, and I'll add Batman on the Game Gear too; it's pretty much GG Shinobi quality with the IP.

Sunsoft churned out several good ones. Genesis Batman 1989 is superb with excellent tunes too.

I remembered another great one: Batman Returns for both the SNES and NES

A great if By-the-numbers Brawler, you can throw enemies at the background and the brawler scenes are mixed with platformer levels, that said, regarding the SNES one even in the easiest difficulty it's tough, but if you manage to tame it, you will be allright

A lot of people actually dislike it, but I've always loved the SEGA Genesis Batman Returns game. It's brutal and really takes practice, but I think it's still at least easier than the SNES beat em up (which is also really good and also really brutal).

Also this GameBoy game based on the animated series is a pretty good time. I found it doing a Rom Roulette and honestly really loved it.

You are right, it's my favourite game based in the animated series (alongside the SNES version).

JLH had the misfortune to come out the same year as Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, which blew it out of the water (it's still a decent game, but not as good as MUA, even if it has the slight edge in terms of production).
Yup, I think Marvel UA is far better, but this one worth it too

I like it, yeah. It was written by Dwayne McDuffie (who was a long time DCAU writer), so it at least has stronger character dynamics than MUA (even if I'm not a fan of its portrayal of Zatanna as a sort of bratty showgirl, which isn't what she's like anywhere else I've seen, comics or otherwise).
