Seeing the magic bus ones made me laugh. There is a Meat Canyon cartoon where the magic bus takes a field trip to... well.....

I’m curious, it feels like nobody ever talks about these games ever
System shock because it's simply the best 90s PC game. Honorable mentions: fallout 1, fallout 2, thief 1 and thief 2

Sometimes I wish I was more of a fan of older PC games, but unfortunately I was born in the late 2000s!

Lately I've been playing Fate/Stay Night though, and I've been really enjoying it a lot. Although I'm not sure if Visual Novels count as Games (I think they do,) but I also see them as books at times (especially when the text is written in a way that I have to slow down and think.)

There's this game called "Painkiller" which I honestly forgot how I even discovered it in the first place, but I do have it on steam and I played it. I haven't played it in like over a year since if I'm being honest here, I was actually pretty scared! It was pretty fun though, and I do think fondly of it. Hopefully I'll get the courage to beat the game one day.

I feel like this is an obligatory mention, but I'm a fan of Touhou Project, and two of the games I have played have been Touhou 6 and 7, which were released in 2002 and 2003 respectively. I feel like there isn't much to talk about though, since Touhou is one of the more popular series. It's maybe not as popular as Wolfenstein or Doom if we're being honest here.

There were a few PC games I played. Mostly educational games.

Hooooolllyy shit I haven't thought about Gizmos and Gadgets for years. If there was a 1995 way to Platinum a game, I certainly did, there. Haha!

My parents had a Mac at the time, so my PC game pickings were slim, but there were a few genuine classics:

Painkiller is one of my favs, I need to replay it one of these days. Very cool themed environments too.

I am absolutely NOT a PC gamer, especially these days with PC gaming having gone full digital only and being heavy on the Steam DRM. However I have played and enjoyed some older PC games from that particular time period. I really like classic LucasArts games such as:

The_Curse_of_Monkey_Island_artwork.jpg
LeChuck%27s_Revenge_artwork.jpg
Sam_%26_Max_Hit_the_Road_artwork.jpg

and these classic games too:

Thief: The Dark Project is my favorite game I think.

Since I wrote on this thread I actually discovered many old PC games:

- Interstate series (Pew pew car combat game).

- Archimedean Dynasty (It could be a space simulator but it became ocean simulator lol)

- No One Lives Forever 2 (Never knew it had a 2nd game. I only played its first game on PS2. This series is kinda best James Bond game without James Bond next to "The spy who shot me™")

- Advent Rising (Mass Effect's father while Gene Troopers is its mama lol)

- Johnny Mnemonic (No one told me it has a game so I found it randomly lol)

I remember back when Fifa soccer had serious issues transitioning to 3d in 1997, our favourite soccer game was Actua Soccer 2. We used to play a lot of matches me and my brother. Played more like arcade soccer games. One reason later instead of joining EA and Konami, we went to Virtua Striker on Dreamcast.

I would like to mention not “that” old games, but some turn based strategies I truly enjoyed since they made on the best basis of the genre.

Pandora: First Contact and Eclipse of Nashira Expansion. It’s like the best of Civilisation and Alpha Centauri blended together, really good game.

Endless Space. Interstellar strategy of planet scale management manly focused on economics than combat, the latter is present, but very trivial. Anyway, it’s rather quick and more than satisfying.

Unreal 1, released in 1998, is, for me, the best single-player FPS of the 90s, it completely blows Quake away.
That is a great game, as one of the best campaigns of the genre in the decade. BUT, balancing and movement[aka the base gameplay] are worse than Quake. Quake has air control and acceleration when turning which make 1st person platforming so fun, and its enemies, although similarly tanky in lower skills, don't scale HP with difficulty levels as the ones in Unreal do, becoming meat walls at any skill past the 2nd one.

That said, Quake!

EUI didn't live through that era exactly, but I enjoy playing simulation games. I like the rollercoaster game where you create an amusement park that I downloaded recently to play, and I really enjoy it.I used to play on emulators.
