Suburban. I've pretty much lived in some version of that my whole life. Though they were always connected directly to a city/urban area. I could walk down from the townhouse I live in to the main city hub where I am. At most I'd like to live no more than a mile or so out from a city.

Though I'd hate to live in one of those suburbs that are basically disconnected from both an urban center AND rural outlands (they're often referred to as exurbs). Those kind of places are the worst kind of islands in the middle of nowhere America. The kind of place where kids have nothing to do because they're too far away from a recreational center as well as an open field.

Cities don't work like that around here, at most you see 20 floors apartments and office buildings around here, and even that is rather uncommon, more commonly you see buildings around the 5 to 10 floors at most.
The closest to what I'm currently living is suburban I guess even that i find too Busy/noisy.
Ideally I would go for either rural or near the sea.
