When it comes to Gran Turismo, it’s hard to choose… Out of nostalgia I’d probably say GT2 on the PS1, but if I’m being realistic, it has to be GT4 on the PS2. It had massive content and, in my opinion, it was the last truly great Gran Turismo.

I still play GT2, but I’ve never used the Arcade disc.

i just recently got gt 7 on sale for ps5, i dunno what's wrong with the progression, it seems fine to me?
just got done with menu book 39 (the last main one before the extras) in about 9 hours and looks like i have everything unlocked track and upgrade parts wise,
and it's basically like other GTs after that, rack money and keep buying stuff.

if i wanna complain it's the NPC dialog, you can skip it all with circle immediately (has to be turned on in options) i skipped basically ALL text dialog right away.

it's certainly not a bad game (just feels like sport with better graphics)

I think I've played at its moment the entire franchise, except for the "prologues" versions, and only in single player modes because online modes never worked good in my region, they were too full of issues.

These are my Top 3:

1. GT 6 : The one I enjoyed the most, with very good handling, lots of cars and lots of tracks and events.
2. GT 7 : The only game that I play at the moment on my poor PS5, it started good and stylish, but begins to feel empty when passed some weeks. At least it has some weekly events to keep you playing some more.
3. GT 4 : An incredible Gran Turismo for its time, running on a PS2 as if it was an early PS3 game. Only surpassed by 1st and 2nd place because of the use of analogue triggers to accelerate/brake.

Honorable mentions to Gran Turismo for PSP, Gran Turismo 2 and a nostalgic point to the japanese intro of the first Gran Turismo, with "Moon over the castle" as theme song.

GT1 & 2 - were the "revolution" in the world of racing games (still the best, for me, not to mention the nostalgia effect).

GT3 - was like a leap into a new dimension.

GT4 - the pinnacle of racing games of its time.

GT4 is still the pinnacle of racing games!
