halo reach!!!!
its gonna make me sound young but where im from we didnt get internet till like 2010, and halo reach was the first online game i ever played!!! it was so fun. the campaign had such a good sad story too........

i've seen some nice titles listed in here however we all know that the best fps ever made is medal of honor underground for the gameboy advance!

i'm someone who generally doesn't play FPS so take that to consideration
i've had a lot of fun with the bioshock series and i don't even like FPS all that much
i have played a lot of borderlands (all of them, absolutely fun with co-op)
oh yeah absolutely had fun with metroid prime games.

Well I at least would recommend Painkiller: Black Edition for anyone. You can shoot wooden sticks and pin your enemies onto walls or chop them into pieces with a special melee weapon!!! lol

Best campaign I played was Killzone Mercenary. I prepare myself to be lashed publicly by FPS fans for my opinion.

Best all around would be, Halo 1 I guess. Perfect Dark is really impressive tho with how much it did on its hardware.

With you there - though with with both UT 99 and 04 I get a surprising amount of enjoyment playing them vanilla against bots. I think when there isn't a single player 'campaign' there's a lot of enjoyment from just jumping on, ramping up the difficulty and blasting.

Same here. Our Internet connection was not multiplayer-worthy back then to play online, so I mainly played with bots on Instant Action. Need to try playing the game online someday. I learned recently that the community still runs online servers even after Epic had shut down the official ones back in 2022, and the games are basically freeware now.
