What game has the best shotgun in your opinion?

For me the masters of the shotgun is ID Software. And the game I found it more satisfying in is Rage. It feels really good to blast fools in the wasteland.

My favorite is probably the super shotty from Doom 2, but I also really like the shotguns in Resident Evil games, particularly in 1 and 4. Blowing the head off a spanish farmer who keeps walking a few steps will never not be funny.
The Scattergun from Jak 2/3 is also insanely satisfying to use.

I really like the shotgun in Blood, the scatter gun in TF2 is good too.

VK-12 from F.E.A.R. 1 and its expansions. The shotguns in F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin are very usable, but they are nerfed from their predecessor in terms of sound and cool factor.

Resident Evil gave us some great shotguns, from the classic Mansion Shotgun in RE1 and the REmake (And its Assault variant in the latter) to the Custom Shotgun in 2 classic, to all the shotguns featured in RE4 and its REmake, and the over-under type from REVII: Biohazard.

Blood is home to a great shotgun, as is fellow Build engine games Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior (the 2013 reimagining of the latter also has a great, three-barrelled shottie for Lo Wang to get his hands on).

DOOM 2 Super Shotgun, my beloved

Hits as hard as a direct rocket hit and has one of the most satisfying firing cycles in gaming. The way 4-5 zombiemen fall to a single shot is just pure dopamine.

CRAP, I forgot about the Shredder from Turok 2 & 3! That was honestly one of my go-tos alongside the Cerebral Bore, minigun, Plasma and Sniper rifles, and grenade and rocket launchers in my playthroughs of them.

My vote goes to the UT Flak Cannon, hands down. Honorable mention to the shotty in Bioshock.
