Best disney/non disney animated movies (no anime)

wait Really, I didn't know that

Any other time they dubbed an animated movie they left everything as is so I was really surprised when I watched it in italian

off topic: for some stupid reason they censored SCARFACE of all movies, instead of "This country is one big pussy waiting to be fucked", Tony Montana goes "It's just like a beautiful woman waiting to be made love to" ???? it's fucking scarface and someone thought that line was too much?

one of my favorite childhood cartoons

I have power over people, though they may appear complex: for me they fall like playing cards, and I control the decks!

Here are my non-Disney nominations:
The Chipmunk Adventure (1989)

Way back when, Jeanette from that movie may have gotten me the closest to being a furry that I ever had in my life (not in any version of the series before or after; they seemed to really put an effort into making them attractive for that film).

I too am surprised nothing awoken within me after watching the Snake Charmer scene. Honestly though, I think they all look their best in that film, stylistically, than any other iteration afterwards.
And the animation in some scenes still look fantastic! Plus the music was great and overall it was just a fun ride from beginning to end. I could re-watch that movie anytime 🙂

I don’t know if you still remember Titan A E. This animated film is voiced by Matt Damon.View attachment 49793

also i like movie soundtrack of this movie.

Anastasia is my all-time fave. It's a 90's Don Bluth film that has it all--great songs, great art direction, rotoscoped animation, Kelsey Grammar with a pseudo-Russian accent, Meg Ryan, John Cusack, a Leonardo DiCaprio lookalike hero, and a feel-good fairytale ending for a tragic historical figure. Reminds me of my fave animated game, The Last Express, a similar period drama that also made heavy use of rotoscoping.

For Disney I always liked that rough and shitty era in like the 70's-80's, pre-Eisner. I like the scrappy-ness of those films! Shoutout to Robin Hood, The Rescuers, Great Mouse Detective in particular. I'm much more interested in non-Disney work though. Here's some picks I love, I'm gonna include anime films too because i dont give a shit:

The Tale of the Fox (1937)
Fritz the Cat (1972)
Fantastic Planet (1973)
Son of the White Mare (1981)
The Secret of NIMH (1982)
The Last Unicorn (1982)
Night on the Galactic Railroad (1985)
Felidae (1994)
Catnapped! (1995)
Malice@Doll (2001)
Waking Life (2001)
A Scanner Darkly (2006)
Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Gahoole (2010)
Rango (2011)
It's Such a Beautiful Day (2012)
When Black Birds Fly (2016)
My Entire High School Sinking Into the Sea (2016)
Loving Vincent (2017)
The Wolf House (2018)

Also for more avant-garde shorts you gotta check out the work of Stan Brakhage, Takashi Ito, and the Brothers Quay. Mindblowing and classic stuff

I just watched an odd one last night called Rock and Rule. It's difficult to explain it quickly but it's got a really unique psychedelic cyber punky vibe. Somewhere in between a Heavy Metal movie and a Disney movie lol.

Honestly I tend to not care for a lot of Disney animation. I tend to prefer the lower budget stuff especially more experimental or adult animation.

Ooooo fantastic planet how artsy, lol. This isn't an animated movie but fantastic planet kinda reminded me of "the color of pomegranates", I feel like you've probably heard of it if you're into artsy stuff.
