Alright folks. I done this before in the past with Mortal Kombat characters, and I admit, I had a good time hearing out with y'all consider is the best and worst character in that franchise history. So we are bringing it back, this time with a extremely popular game, Street Fighter. There has been a ton of Street Fighter Games out there. About 8 different eras with multiple updates or sequels, which means there are a ton of Street Fighter characters to select. So which characters would y'all consider to be the best and the worst? Your favorites or even some characters that is overrated. Comment down below with your response.

Falke gotta be the most forgettable character in the entire series.

I've always kind of hated Adon, but idk what the general consensus is on him.

I'm sure a lot of my favourites will be said at some point, so I'll go with a couple underrated ones.

G was so sick dude, definitely the best SFV original character.

Cracker Jack, cool boxing style character from the Street Fighter EX series. He was brought back for Fighting EX Layer as well.

No one will be worse then Rufus, because it was either him or King Cobra, and they chose the really dumb character that everyone hates because he's a fat idiot whose story makes no fucking sense and isn't funny and GOD I hate RUFUS. Fat fucking piece of shit. I hope that one day he gets the Ash Crimson treatment and gets erased from Space-Time and everyone forgets about him and he dies. I hope Capcom goes back in time and posthumously removes him from SFIV and SFxT. Fucking fat, fuck.

Most of the newcomers they introduced in SFV are mostly all awful and forgettable to me. Some of them like Ed, G and Laura I don’t mind and kind of like, but F.A.N.G., Falke, Kolin and Luke are so awful and mostly forgettable. In the case of Luke specifically; I will never accept him as the new face of SF. I know that’s what they want, but I just can’t see it ever. If they really want to retire Ryu, or want him to take more of a backseat, they should’ve gone with their original plan of making Alex the new main guy, or I’d even accept Sakura taking up the mantle since it would kind of make sense in a way.

For my personal favourites though; Sagat has always been my guy, especially in the SF2 series. Vega/Balrog has one of the best designs I’ve ever seen for a fighting game character to this day, I only wish I knew how to really play him well lol. Akuma/Gouki has always been a favourite of mine too, and personal favourite of the Shoto’s. Chun-Li and Cammy are still 2 of the greatest female fighting game characters of all time. Dudley in 3S is my favourite boxer type fighter in any fighting game ever. And last but not least; my beloved Makoto; my favourite character in my favourite Street Fighter game. Great design, great gameplay, she ticks all the boxes for me (also, tomboy).

I know it's inpopular but I like Necro because he's so different yet he fits the SF world and has a deeper story than many other characters in several aspects (also because he's a Russian character who isn't a villain).

My least favourite is probably Lee from the first Street Fighter game because he's not interesting and is a bit of a chinese cliche. I did like how Yun and Yang referred to him.

Why is Crimson Viper "le suck"? Simple! As the venerable Seanbaby once stated (or something like): 'If you saw her on the street amongst other people, you wouldn't know which person to punch because she doesn't show her panties.' That and they do everything to make her appear aggressively sexy, then go out of their way to hide it. Plus, that awful hair.

Ed has to be one of the lamest designs they've ever come up with, it's insane to me that they saw that and thought "yeah this is fine". Unbelievably uncool guy where every single design element feels like it clashes in a bad way.

And then somehow the SF6 team made him sick as hell, I love what they did with him, glowup of the century right there. They even went out of their way to make his SF5 uniform not look like shit for outfit 3! So yeah to me he's one of the best AND worst lol.

I really like Necro and I hope they bring him back someday.

My controversial opinion is that some SFII characters, like Blanka and Dhalsim, should be retired already. They're too cartoonish to meaningfully develop as characters, and they're sort of gross caricatures as well. I also think E. Honda, Balrog, and Vega are pretty boring character-wise.

I really admire Capcom for daring to replace (almost) the entire cast with SFIII. Too bad people weren't down with that until much later... the SFIII cast is, in my opinion, infinitely better than SFII's.

You obviously have no idea Flog

So your main issue is that she's seductive but doesn't show enough? I see it more like a Catwoman type of character and SF has never been that explicit (like MK or DoD's female characters).

On the other hand she looks like a SNK character who got lost in Street Fighter than anything else.

The best fighter in my opinion is Ryu, he’s been incredibly consistent, is a fairly well-rounded character, has a design I like, and pretty cool lore.
I liked him in the Alpha series and seeing how he became a master in SFIII but sadly outside of him seeking to fight he has nothing much to do anymore since he finally overcame his Satsui no Hadou... But fans are wanting to keep him and Ken as the main characters of the series despite attempts to provide new protagonists with each new main game.

I hope so (even if he may get a redesign).

The World Warriors are iconic characters but I agree that they feel more like fanservice than actual characters with an evolution. People complained that SFV didn't have the full cast from II at launch. Honda is a sumo and nothing else, Blanka after his mother finally came back should've stopped fighting, Dhalsim is now a family man so I don't see why he wants to fight either...

I'm also pretty sure that after Dictator's defeat, Boxer and Claw would basically go solo as the former just wants fight money and the later has an ego so big he would no longer risk his body to get hurt as he's pretty rich.

Sagat is the only non-Dictator character that actually had a real character development and him departing from Shadaloo was his best decision in life. The very first antagonist of the franchise going through a redemption arc is almost poetic (for a fighting game).

SFIII suffered from a bad timing with Tekken making 3D the new standard for how a fighting game should look and people being disappointed that after Alpha 2 they couldn't see their favourite World Warriors in the game. It took the third version to finally see Chun-Li and Akuma back as they're extremely popular but that doesn't remove the fact that it was a major risk.

I think SNK almost did the same thing with the NEST Saga of KoF with '99 where they almost planned to not have Kyo nor Iori in the cast.

I feel like SF6 is the first game that has a different main character than Ryu, the character in question being Luke.

That was more of a joke answer to a character I genuinely don't like. As you said, she's an SNK character that got lost and wound-up in Street Fighter. I just bloody hate her entire design. The yellow huge-lens glasses are ridiculously stupid. Her hair (up until SF6) looks like someone ate a bunch of cherries then vomited on her head - I can only describe it as a poor attempt to create a pompadour/mohawk hybrid with a long braid. She wears a top to bare her cleavage...then flaps a tie over it to hide it. Then there's her entire schtick. She's a CIA agent? Okay, fine. She uses a power suit to heavily augment her otherwise pathetic martial arts (in comparison to literal ki masters)? Fail.

But her greatest SIN is...being a redhead. I hate redheads. No, I will not elaborate - just know that every redheaded woman I've ever known has tried to screw me over for the lols.

Best: Vega (claw), Remy, A.K.I, Decapre, JP, Ingrid, F.A.N.G, Hakan, Necro, Oro, El Fuerte, Twelve, Ibuki, Cody, Dee Jay, Sodom, Juli, Q, Juni, Birdie, Kolin, Charlie, Alex, Eagle, Falke, G, Elena, Genki, Bison (dictator), Lucia.

Worst: Dan, Eleven, Sean.

The rest of the cast I'm indifferent to.

Actually. Street Fighter III has attempted to put Alex as the main character. You see, Street Fighter III had a long complicated development over the three series release. They had sprites, they had design, but they didn't have a sense of direction. More so was the roster as some would say the series was a reboot with no Ryu or Ken to begin with, just new characters. However, another article I found state that they did confirm Ryu to be in the game, but not as the main character, primarily at that time pro wrestling was at it's peak with WWE [then the WWF] Attitude Era, WCW vs NWO, ECW, and other promotions (that sadly contain a couple of wrestlers way past their prime). The idea is since Pro Wrestling is huge in the US, why not make the main character a pro wrestler, even though Ryu is definitely what the fans wanted.

There are many to check on so choose wisely on what was talked about. Even doing personal research cause the idea of replacing Ryu is baffling.

Most of my favorites are SF3 newcomers: Dudley is really fun to watch and figure out tech with, and Makoto is just a real breath of fresh air. There aren't many characters that feel like her, and it's a shame they don't give her the same love, or the rest of the SF3 cast for that matter.

I will say that some SF3 characters just don't do it for me. Sean, for example, doesn't do much for me, and I don't see why some wish for him to return besides story reasons.

But SF4 definitely had the worst additions to the series for me. Although they did include characters like Juri and Viper that were fine, 90% of the SF4 additions are really lame designs that I personally feel have/had no ability to be returning faces unless serious redesigns were done 😂

I would honestly be surprised if they decided one day that Rufus or Hakan were making the cut again!
