Welcome to every computer teacher's nightmare.
We used to waste SO MUCH TIME playing this thing in class (and getting in trouble for it)... but it was absolutely worth it.
The colorfully named "Bang! Bang!" is a great game because it's both really simple and surprisingly challenging — you'd need to become a proper Artillery General to deal with wind speed, shooting angles and changing terrain as the battle rages on... and that level of personal investment makes it take a really long time to get old, too — which is exactly what makes it worth learning and playing.
I like to think of it as "Worms before Worms".
And, as a bit of trivia, creator David B. Lutton II said in an interview that a second version of the game was developed and given to a friend to upload to the BBS, but his friend dropped the (cannon) ball massively and never did, resulting on that version being lost.
Anyway! Battle! YEAH!
