You're off by a decade there. He's in his 40's. But, even going back to his "golden years" his videos were hit and miss. He's at his best when it's not a review but a comedy sketch tied to the game.

It's weird, I was fine with potty humour in his older videos but in the more recent it felt forced and this was the kind of joke that made me a bit less interested in that video...
I think the genre showed its limits and got repetitive because it's easier to slam a game that is accepted as bad by many than trying to explain the genuine flaws of what is considered to be a masterpiece by the gaming community (like if you tell the parts of OoT that have legitimately aged despite how revolutionary the game was).
Some of it was fine with, but by 2010-2011, I already got sick of it and increased frequent use he did during his dork age.
This is nothing new, and even he's been aware of it for a while. Hence, some of the reviews of good games Rolfe does every now and then.

Not gonna happen. There were many other angry reviewers who tried similar methods, Doug Walker and many ex-Channel Awesome members, but nearly all without success or stopped the gimmicky "character/plotline" and presented their real selves. This is especially notable when the big fallout of Channel Awesome and everyone left. They either dropped the "anger" aspects completely, only did it some of the time, or dropped their character they had, and spoke as their true selves.
Get yourself Waterfox or whatever non pozzed Firefox fork you can find, and download these, and then eliminate 99% of the AI dogshit from your browsing experience.

Yeah the avgn videos where it's a game he's actually passionate about, whether hates or loves it, are always better than the ones like this. Honestly I'd rather see James do videos about anything he's interested in over avgn videos about games he doesn't care about.
Depends on who we are talking about. So born is they're not asses about it, or intentionally misforming and misleading their audience, then I'm usually fine. That said I don't need a 5 to 8 hour essay video of a game that's only takes 6-10 hours long to beat, or even less. For the larger role playing games and open world games, this a bit more understandable, but I'm not gonna sit the whole 5+ hours watching it. No matter how good or genuine, the person doing the s a actually is or good at their job. I do have my preferences.
