Puzzle platformers are something I always have a really soft spot for, and cute mascots too.

NiGHTS has this mystique to it that’s tough to put into words although that’s likely by design.

The dbz drink commercial is so nostalgic ?
I saw it when RoF was coming out and it blew my mind seeing the Z fighters dance. Was a wild sight.

Good point actually. Which reminds me of a very unrelated point so I’ll keep this short: mukbangs actually have some sincerely innocent and non-gross origins. At first it was literally just random Koreans, the focus was a lot more on presentation and chill vibes. Which is why you would very often see the videos have people in them that are quite, mild mannered, very well dressed and well-groomed, eat very slowly and have some white noise like a fan and it’s usually something like a college student or any kind of student like sometimes it was a little kid. Food portions were big yes but the eating was slow and with decent table manners to boot and attention to hygiene.

But then American YTers saw it and was like “fuck that” and dialed up the grossness up to 11 ::lol

I like the 90's but this is the only thing from that era I absolutely don't miss is the voluntary "gross" type of commercial because marketing people thought that boys loved when it was "slimy and nasty"...

I bet that most of these products are also awful for health because of what they put inside as well.

Nintendo in the USA tried to compete with Sega by trying to be "radical" but this is sincerely something they were genuinely bad at.

Nintendo is about being cute, iconic, easily recognisable without trying too hard to appeal to the youngsters...

I love the costumes there
 
Another Zelda commercial that i love, the puppets look great.
 
This commercial is wonderful, And it does a great job at showing what Majora's Mask is about and its overall atmosphere and tone.

That giant Ganon scared me a bit when I was younger.

Japanese Zelda ads are so nice.

I like the puppet show LA one too.

I absolutely love that piano arrange of the overworld theme and Link's puppet in them

The Oracle dualogy was so nice despite how less grand they were.

funnily enough… all of that, but also a nostalgia critic adjacent reference. All his “commercial” videos had a “X of the Commercials” titles.

this has always been one of my favorite game commercials, though every time I see it, I get a little sad knowing there was a Guitar Hero animated series in the works at some point that we never ended up getting; if it looked anything like this, it would've been absolute heat.


oh, and while I'm at it, how could I forget the Slash vore ad for GHIII? good times. goooood times.
